If you ordered from Mark Dodge, how did you get your truck or how do you plan to get it?

What do you mean, 'you’re technically not allowed on parkways'? Where is this you're talking about? Are there restrictions on what type of trucks can drive on certain roads? As down-right oppressive as King Co/Washington state is, I know of no restrictions concerning pickup trucks; heavy construction rigs, semis, and the like sure, but not 3/4 or 1 ton trucks.
You never realized the signs for NO TRUCKS on the state parkways? 2500’s and up are commercial vehicles. (unless you install a cap and leave it on you can change the reggie)
Also no commercial vehicles in the left lane of the expressway.
I see many trucks make their way to the parkways and maybe never get caught.
If you don’t install a cap and prove it to DMV you’ll get commercial plates in the mail. JSYK

We don't have state parkways or expressways here in Washington state. The only restrictions on semi-trailers on our freeways/highways are reduced speed limits; 'Speed limit 70 - Trucks 60'. No such limits or other restrictions on pickup trucks 2500 and up.

BTW, what's a cap?

I did it from Houston. I used Hertz but upon returning I saw signs for 4 other companies. Didn’t pay enough attention to remember them. Very tiny airport in Lake Charles.
I stayed 3 nights total on the trip.
Filled up 3 times with final fill in Baltimore. Didn’t fill here since prices are so much higher here. Waiting…
Used a total of 71.54 gallons up to Baltimore for a total of $383.68. (Chase freedom card gives 5% back this quarter at gas stations so that would lower it by $19.18.) Haven’t looked at toll charges yet. Arrived in Sayville with 3/4 tank still.
I see you’re here on the island so you’re technically not allowed on parkways. I took the BQE to the expressway. I’m sure I could have tried to play stupid with the Louisiana tags on it but since I have the class A he would say “nice try”. I’m sure not many get pulled over for that though
Well worth the trip since my price quote was 2800+
All good people at Mark Dodge!
Thanks for that info. That is less gas than I thought would be used.

I’m out in Medford. Were you by yourself or with passengers? Probably not a big difference in gas mileage but I got the wife and her two sisters plus all the luggage for a week. Plus whatever crap she buys in Waco. Do have a bed cover? That probably saves on mileage.

I’ll probably just take the GWB I hate the belt.

I can’t copy and paste it from there but look at the note on the MV 82 form. It’s on the top. I don’t know if it’s new but sounds like non business don’t need commercial.

Why are so many people renting cars from Houston and NOLA? I was under the impression that they would pick you up from those airports; did I misunderstand Sandi?

I was talking about diesel mileage. I got about 20 mpg
Just me. My wife also would have loved to see the fixer upper town if I mentioned it. Hope it is worth the extra ride!
And no bed cover.
Let me know how the gas economy compares. Safe trip!

I only did cause I didn’t want to have to wait for someone to pick me up.

They put them on the dualies.

I’ve seen a couple posts on here about duallies that didn’t get the mudflaps….but it’s literally been a couple. The guys that are a little more particular usually swap them out. I’m not crazy about them, but I won’t be removing them…did remove their sticker on the back glass. They look like they haven’t revised them to accommodate the extra trim piece that comes down below the end of the fender wheel well…swap out the red text for smaller black font and I’d lean towards almost liking them…no qualms advertising for getting a good deal

If you fly into Houston, you can go towards uptown and get a casino bus to Lake Charles, about 5 minutes from MD. Also comes with a gambling voucher and some $$ off lunch. Obviously only applicable if you want to pickup at the dealer. If you want them to deliver it, they can do to either IAH or HOU.

If you drive to LC with a rental for return at the airport, make sure to make a lunch stop at Darrell's, the drive home might be hard after that food coma

How much DEF did you use? Was it full when you picked it up?

Sandi says my truck in on the train headed to Port Allen and should be to MD and ready sometime in August. This has all gone fairly fast (sorry, to all those still waiting...)

Original plan was to fly to Lake Charles and drive home. About 12.5 hours (950 miles) to near Charleston, SC. Seems more "natural" to go to the dealership.
Now I am toying with flying to New Orleans and having them drop it off there. Saves a couple of hours and about 200 miles of driving for me.
I will also have them quote hauling it to my house. From above, looks to be around $1400 currently.

Question for anyone who picked-up in New Orleans (or Houston really). About how early did they deliver it to you? Was it before lunch? Were they close to the stated time? Thinking I might rather leave the dealership at my leisure than sit at a hotel waiting...
Thanks!
They met me at 830am on a Saturday at a hotel airport in NO. I got back to central nc at 3am Sunday. You can typically schedule the time with the deiver/Aaron. They were right on time. Even gave me a courtesy call when they were 30min away. Seemed like they typically dealt with meeting people as they landed and met them at the actual airport. So they are pretty good with meeting quoted arrival times, but anything can happen.
