I've been using Stanadyne Performance Formula (8oz bottle-30gal treatment) in my 14 EcoDiesel and now my 19 Ram CTD, but I've always been skeptical if adding 8oz to 31 gal or 3,968 oz of diesel fuel, had any real effect at all! One of the things we've read on the forums is that the government EPA rules has mandated changes in our fuel formula, and caused us to have a poorer quality diesel fuel here in the US! Meaning less lubricity and whatever else? A friend of mine just retired after 41 years having his own shop working on diesel and gas vehicles, recommended the use of the Stanadyne. He was very popular with the diesel folks, with some traveling 100+ miles to have him work on they're vehicles! He drives an 06 3500 Cummins and has used the additive in every tank, and is going on 400K miles with the original fuel pump, injectors etc.. Another friend with the same model and year also uses the same additive, has over 200k with no issues. Plus there are a few others I know using the additive on they're newer trucks. So in the end am I still skeptical....yeah maybe, but with the EPA's effected changes to our fuel and diesel engines, do I feel a little better about using the additive....yeah I think so! It's a personal choice whether to use an additive or not, and in the end does it help our trucks, maybe.....maybe not!
