The noise is definitely from the right rear cab mount. I hooked up a chassis ear on mine today to confirm the source of the sound. When I get time I will remove it and see what the defect is. I don’t think a new mount from fca will fix the problem as they are just going to replace it with the same defective mount. I posted a video on you tube. Here’s the link
So when I picked up my truck from Ram I got a chance to talk to tech and he showed me the I guess what is a star case? and a thread or forum the techs are a part of and he confirmed it is a know issue pinpointed to the pass side rear cab mounts.
This is what they wrote:
"The rattle is coming from rear cab mounts. due to design oversight the center spacer tube rattles up and down against the top mounting plate portion of the mount and until a redesign of the mount is available this noise will not be able to be fixed."
"tried removing the lower black washer with the dimples and placing it on top with the dimples down to seperate the center spacer from the cab. Then we reinstalled the bolt with 2 washers between the center spacer and the large washer on the bolt. We were trying to clamp the center spacer between the silver top cap and the bolt. Still didn't change the concern. With the mount being fluid filled I can't remove the the center spacer to cut it down. Agreed that a redesigned mount is needed."
"wondering if this was the same issue for the star case that disappeared for a rattle at the A lar and they wanted you to replace front cab mounts.I am getting no where with star on concern they think the wrong mount was installed in location of rear of cab, knowing they are physically different mounts from the other mounts on cab."
"finally after 3rd revision of rear cab mounts the noise is no longer present"
Not sure what 3rd revision is but would love to find out. Hopefully my tech/dealer will find out and let me know if and when a redesign or fix is present.
Thanks for the update brother!!!!!! I still haven’t been able to get mine in yet due to health issues...........:-(So when I picked up my truck from Ram I got a chance to talk to tech and he showed me the I guess what is a star case? and a thread or forum the techs are a part of and he confirmed it is a know issue pinpointed to the pass side rear cab mounts.

Hello all, new to this forum but have been browsing here for a little bit. Love the truck but I am in the same boat as everyone else seems to be! Less than 700mi on the odo and the lower speed rattle chatter from rear seats is killing me. Currently waiting on dealership to have my paint fixed ><, short of that I didn't realize I would pay 70k for a rattle box
Thats exactly what mine does...sounds like the rear seat is loose but it comes from a much deeper thud...looks like the blots for the cab mounts are too long and the cushion isnt being tightened down enough to prevent the rattleHey @volcomrr, I at one point had most of the interior parts and panels removed from my brand new MegaCab because of a rattle. This included the whole storage bin and subwoofer behind the rear seats, it was coming from much deeper than there. There were no less than ten thigs I found that had the potential of creating a rattle and secured all of those items with no result.
The hunt to find where it was coming from moved to underneath the truck where I found another dozen things that may cause a rattle, securing them only to still exist. So I resorted to filming the undercarrige trying to pinpoint the noise and it is coming from the very aft cab mounts. I havent made it to the dealer to have it checked out yet but have discussed it with them and they claim to have no knowledge of an issue but there are plenty of people posting about it. If they ever have the parts available to perform all of the recalls I will have them address the rattle while it is in for those. I have attached the link to the video below again.
Isolator appears to be a new/revised part.Just put 2000 miles on the truck, and about 100 miles of logging roads on the truck and the noise hasnt returned.
Per the receipt from Ram, says see service supervisor, there are sop parts, contacted Chryslers Field Tech about concern, advised to replace rear cab mount with updated cab mount design.

Mine sounds like the right rear as well. Will take mine to the dealer when it sounds like there is a good fix.
Anyone make any sense of these part #s... Ram said they got them in to solve the rattle set a 68349250ae and another Set b. 68402173ad. Anyone know if these are new/new design cab mounts or same ones that came with truck.... I really don't want them throwing parts until they find ones that work...
Yes looks correct but how do we know they are updated versions??? Ad doesn't fit my mega cab but the ae does but again how can we find out it is updated and not same old crap that's on there???My best guess is the 68402173ad is the 4 generation/updated part AND the 68349250ae is the 5th generation/updated part, due to what i can tell. Check out the 2 Hyper Links on the attached part numbers. I have no idea if these are the ones to fix the issues or not.
