Does anyone know if this is the correct STAR CAN IHS connector? It does not seem to fit the 2500 so maybe I need to replace it with the white version?

That is not the correct one. HDs use white for both can ihs and can c. The 5th gen 1500s use that green one for their can ihs. All you need to do is shave the key way off of the green one that protrudes on the bottom and it will fit-

I'm struggling trying to remove the star can ihs connector from the terminal block. I can't seem to figure out how they are removed? I'm pushing the side pin towards the connector and can't seem to get it loose.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I’ve got short fingernails, so I use a jewelers flat head and push in on the tab and up at the same time to pop it out of the block-

Thank you, I was able to remove it. I was trying what you suggested but I guess I did not pull hard enough to get it out.

Next step is to remove the 12" radio console so I can then remove the dash around the glove box to gain access to run the wires and install the power step module controller. I found some instructions on how to remove the 12" radio console, but have not yet found anything on the removal of the surround around the lower glove box. Any guidance would be appreciated.

This is the best thread i can find on these steps. I picked up a set of take offs from someone, but didn't get the controller or harness. I don't care for the steps to be routed through the radio and ill even wire it through anywhere for a signal wire. I just want them to go up and down when the door opens, with spending little to no money getting more parts. My we question is, with the wiring. Are the steps grounded through the actual mounts to the cab? And are the signal wires 12v or less I see they run through a resistor and don't want to fry my step motor. Even if i have to wire them of a manual switch in the cab that's still fine with me. I just dont know what to send to each wire on the step.

I do not think that would be practical, to wire a switch directly! To do this, you would need a momentary switch, that would be off in the center, up would raise the boards, and down would lower them. You would then have to play it be ear to know when to release the switch (not even sure if such a switch exists). If you released too soon, the boards would be less than fully raised or deployed, if you released too late, the motor could be damaged or the fuse would blow.
The motors on these boards have hall counters (or sensors) and the computer knows exactly where the boards are and when to stop/start the motor and what direction to spin... I am sure @Jimmy07 knows much more about how this actually works and what is possible?

Just my $0.05 worth...

Hey all I have an issue with my 2020 Ram 2500 side steps. They only deploy half way then retract back in. Does anyone else have this issue and is so what was the fix? Thanks.

@tozz43 If you would not mind can you let me know what you find out? I just experienced that issue yesterday. I've also experienced an issue where they were deployed and then won't retract, they try to retract 1/2 way and then stop and fully deploy again. I did eventually get them to retract fully after a few door open and closes. They seem to be working fine now.

Ensure the hinges are clean and clear of obstruction.

The steps are designed with pinch protection using hall effects sensors in the motors and any obstruction will cause them to stop or reverse direction.

I have Amp deployable boards, this happened to me once or twice and was an easy fix. Since the motor to deploy is only one end of the board if the mounting is slightly croaked it can bind and stop the deployment.
What i did was to adjust the securing screw from the step to the deploying leg, i noticed it made the step flex.... that flex is what caused the issue and i resolved by adjusting the tension. No mores issue and everything still secure.

I don't know if the factory mounts are the same or the set screw in the same location but i cannot imagine there is much difference so worth checking IMO

I have this issue with my passenger side one. I haven't had a chance to get anything gummed up in them yet, but I was going to hit it with the hose and see if that helps.

This post is in reference to the deployable running boards. Ok so I went to my local ram dealership at 10:30 am today. I was told to leave my truck there all week and it might be seen Thursday or Friday. I asked why, I was told they have 50 other vehicles on site that have to been repaired first. I asked why would you have me drive across town for an appointment knowing your not even going to look at my truck all week. I was told its their policy. So I brought the truck home. It saddens me that I spent 75000 on a new truck that I cant even get it looked at.
Anyone have any advice on what I should do next?

This is certainly not the update I was hoping to hear from you. If you would be interested in calling in to our customer care team, they can escalate a case like I am able to do here, but they are also able to assist with getting an appointment scheduled if you would like to receive support with finding a different local dealer who can get you in sooner. The number to call for that is 866-726-4636.

Our team here is always a PM away for further support.
