is this the 50 or 48 gal tank?
The window sticker calls it 50. Some parts sites call it 48. Who knows what the actual capacity is. The main thing is, we’re all referring to the fuel tank that comes equipped on a crew cab long bed Hemi truck that is optioned with the “50 gallon fuel tank”.

Picked up the tank this afternoon.

It measures approx 76" and it looks like it would fit. It's very difficult to be sure crawling under.

Find attached the photos of the tank. I'll create a additional posts to include the photos of the underbody. Each post is limited to 10 images. If there's a better way to do this I'm all ears.

These are meant to illustrate where it might fit. The bracket holds part number 68466509AB which is coming up as a vapor canister (https://www.mymoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-vapor-canister-68466509ab).

That's it for the pics. Hope it's helpful. As stated prior, haven't ordered brackets or anything to install. We're still in the preliminary fitment stage.

Does the larger tank appear any taller? Or is it just longer?

Yes, it's taller, averaging about 5" to 6" taller from front to back. For example, the front (near driver seat) is 9" with the 31 gallon compared to 15" with the 50 gallon. (first two photos)

I will attach the photos taken of the measurements of the 50 gallon and 31 gallon here for all to view and compare.

First one is the back of the 50 gallon. Remainder are from the stock tank.

Yes, it sure is tall. Seems it won't stick out lower than any part of your underbody so that's going to keep it safe.

I'm now in the process of ordering the remaining parts and going for the gold!
Either you miss-typed, or are confused about it 'not sticking out'. The stock tank is not quite flush with the bottom of the frame. At 6"s deeper I would expect to see the bigger tank hang 6+"s below the frame...much like the GM models do when the larger tanks are used. As long as you are not operating in any high clearance areas, you should be fine though. It's always a challenge being the 1st one to do something. Good luck!

Haha, thanks! How about door number three. It depends how people interpret what was written.

I added an arrow to the drive shaft for clarification of what was meant in that context. Of course the transfer case is much lower than that.

On the driver side there's part of the suspension that is already lower than the stock tank.

In both of these measurements the 50 gal tank appears to not reduce the effective clearance.

Only after installation will the hypothesis be confirmed.

So.... has it been installed?
