From memory, no the lights won't light up unless you have activated the Aux switches option through the BCM.

Thanks. I just went in with alfaobd and activated the Aux switches through the BCM and they light up now. I had already activate Customer.Set.Menu 1 - Auxiliary Switches CSM" so I just needed to activate CBC Features- configuration Aux Switches PTO- to Six Switches. Works perfectly now. Thanks again.

I’ve been researching the addition of the Aux switches on a 2021 with a Cummins. From what I have deciphered in this thread is I will need;
Buy the switches, get part number from chart listed by Brutal (thx).
Need to add fuses and relays in the PDC. I’m assuming the PDC is wired already.
I need to activate the Aux switches with AlphaOBD. Not sure what else is needed? Seen something about changing build code, maybe this is referring to the need for the AlphaOBD.
I have the bundle of wires blunt cut with the yellow tape under the battery.
Do I need any wiring mods on a 2021 to make these switches work?

I don't think the Aux PDC is wired for anything except input power and the cabin heater. @Jimmy07 will know.

Under the battery is plow prep wiring, nit for the Aux PDC.

It's AlfaOBD. Confuses searchers when it's named improperly.

Hit up @paulvi . He sells the complete kit to wire everything up once you order the switches you need. It comes with great instructions and he’s super willing to help. The job looked a bit overwhelming for me just reading the instructions, but as soon as I actually started the job it was all straight forward. Can’t speak highly enough of the wiring kit he provides.

be sure to solder all connections where possible if you go with paul's kit. I went that route and the oem switch bank. install is a bit tedious, so take time and care.

Why would you solder? Gas tight mechanical crimp is superior to solder for wire connections. Solder wicks up the wire and makes it brittle.

In the aux fuse box of a truck without AUX switches, it appears this pin is a +12 on run. I believe these relays control the hvac in duct heaters. Would it be a bad idea to steal power from this pin to trigger another relay for run only functionality? Only triggering power for another relay, not supplying power to the device.

I believe you would be okay. Power is power, doesn't make any difference where you are getting it. And for triggering a relay you aren't stealing enough to affect anything else that uses that power. I say go for it.

Like John said it won't be a problem. If you look at the PDC diagram you're talking about pin 10. Which is a fused ignition switch which is on during both run and start.

Based on the table below I need part 68376644 but the website I am looking at says doesn't fit my 2021. Anyone use this part on a 2021?

Thank you

I don't see that this was posted anywhere, and it's always best to find a truck VIN with AUX matching your other features, but this AUX switch decoder chart was seen on the sister site 5thgenrams. I don't know the true source, use at your own risk.

When the website that you're purchasing from is comparing the number it is comparing it against what your vehicle features were when it was sold. Therefor because your vehicle wasn't equipped with the Aux switches it will say it doesn't fit your model. Before this table was found/created the only way to get a part number for an item you wanted to upgrade was to find a vehicle that was the same year/model/level that had the features and look up the switch part number from the vehicle using it's VIN. Maybe if you really want to compare to make sure that the number is correct for you, is to find a vehicle for sale (online) that is the same year/make/model get it's VIN and use that one on the website that you're looking at purchasing through? Or using the table look up the part number for what's in your truck and see what the website says about "fitting" it should confirm that the one in your truck is the same as what is in the table.

If you get get the aux switches, you lose the toggles and get two rows of buttons. At least from the photos that have been shown.
So what are the second row of buttons for? Are they the ac contols?

So when you lose the toggles, then what were those toggles for?

You don’t lose anything. The toggles (not really toggles, but a piano key style switch you press down on) become a top row of buttons.
