Mine has done the same thing. It has only happened two or three times though. The dealer says there are no updates.
Mine does it every start up when it's hot and takes longer to start working normally. I'm taking it in to the dealer tomorrow. I'll post my results.

2019 limited megacab 2500 2k miles
Been driving around with a P2459 DTC for about a week. Cleared it once to see if it was just because of my short drive cycles but it has returned and permenant! Then today I went to scan again and I've got a P1484. Looks like I'll have to take it in. Not really what I was looking forward to after waiting months for my new truck to arrive.

Hi SCRAMHD,
We are terribly sorry to hear that you are experiencing concerns with your new Ram. Should you like some additional assistance while working with your dealer to address this, please send our team a private message!

My 2019 megacab big horn A/C also doesn't blow hard enough nor cold enough. It's no where near my 2017 F250 was. I also have to close vents to blow somewhat normal as well.

I also live in Vegas with 108 degree weather coming in the next few days. I have little children and concerns me to get my kid from the back seat and they are sweating after 10-20 minutes of driving. Which is more than enough time to cool down. I really dont want to deal with a dealer to be told its within spec, when clearly it's not. They should be increasing the blower capacity. I have a feeling that the water valve is to blame or the lack of a valve. Anybody gotten theirs fixed?

Besides that, anybody figure out the rattle noise in the back on these trucks yet? Haven't figured mine out either.

seeing this complaint from more and more folks here is starting to bug me. i have an older senior in the family that i constantly take on errands. due to whatever meds she has to take , she's extremely sensitive to heat. a good AC is a must for us.

i'm sorry that you have to deal with such a problem. especially having kids in the car. i hope Ram get's on resolving that for you sooner than later.

Reading about all the problems here and on the other forum gives me doubt about taking delivery. Geez, I know all manufactures have problems but it appears that Dodge/Ram/Fiat/Whoever doesn't know how to fix and make problems go away.

For comparison, I have a 15 year old truck that has only had ONE problem, which was repaired under warranty so many years ago, I forgotten when (it's in my service records though). It was a loose ABS sensor. Nothing else has ever failed. Not one recall. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

If I buy the Ram, is it almost like buying a BMW? FWIW, my opinion of the BMW is simple: it's the ultimate piece of crap. It has two major problems: it cannot withstand the earth's gravity, nor its atmosphere. Therefore, any part or replacement part is in immediately failure mode once it exists on earth. It will probably last longer on the moon but that has yet to be proven. And the typical BMW owner is either in denial, or totally accepts that's the cost of BMW ownership.

So, how close behind is the Ram? Face it, this is almost like the basic/stupid BMW type problems. Repeated check engine lights after a few hundred miles, AC that doesn't work well, plus all the other years of problems documented on the other forum, with DIY fixes because the factory won't...

I won't defend the indefensible, BUT I will say I have had multiple lemons from Ford, GM, Toyota, VW, and Volvo, so the grass is not greener on the other side. It's all a big gamble.

My 99 Dodge Ram has 230000 miles. My 2015 Ram has 117000 miles. Our 2003 has 157000 miles. Our 2013 RAM had 75000 when we sold it I have owned trucks for the past 20 years. One GMC that was given to me as a wedding gift and one Ford that an old timer convinced me to buy.

I drive Mopar Trucks because they like me.

Remember, also, 80% of people with a problem will come to a forum. 20% with a good truck will and most of them are enthusiasts.

Our sister site has just over 15000 members...RAM has sold over 50000 units a month for quite some time.

And not all of the 15000 members have issues.

Mopar has treated me well, from Plymouth Traildusters to Dodge Ramchargers to Powerwagons to PowerRams to W250s to Dodge Ram 1500 to Dodge Ram 2500 and to Ram 2500s.

I do not even waste my time looking at other types or makes of vehicles...although I do want an ANGRY BEE.

BUT, that said I am also well aware of the issues people are having and take none of them lightly.

For the rattle noise, is it as simple as the 2.5” to 2” receiver adapter on the under floor storage compartment? Mine was in there and bumped around a bit making some noise. I don’t have the rattle but the AC is definitely weak.

FWIW, even with a couple problems so far, I’d still buy this truck again.

Only issues I have had on my 2019 Limited Crew Cab 4x4 Diesel is the 12” screen freezes periodically, and won’t work at all when touched. Especially when it is hot outside, and the sun has been beating down through the windshield. It works again after a restart or two, but is annoying if it happens while driving. Also, like others stated, lack of bass in the system. I also had a service airbag warning come on that will be looked at this week when I take it to dealer. Other than those hiccups, I love the truck.
the radio ( 17 speaker HK system ) has a update that's been out for a few months.

If you have had multiple lemons from 5 manufactures, then keep on buying. The more bad luck you suck your way when buying cars, the better for all of us. :p

I'm not talking about lemons though. Just incessant problems shared by more than one owner.

I haven't taken it to the dealer as I am busy trying to register it, which hasn't been fun but definitly not Rams fault. I am hoping to get this resolved as well but dont want the dealer to hold onto my truck for days on end when I can just inform them how to fix it. But they dont always listen to the customer.

The truck is cold in the morning for the ac (at 90 in the morning but shaded in front of my home). I have to turn down the ac in this scenario. But if I run the truck during the day plus sitting in the sun. It wont blow cold even at night that same day. The connection is the water temp on the truck is hotter at the end of the day versus the beginning of the day. So the water from the heater core is having too much affliation with the hvac system and causing the issue. I may check the freon but dont believe that is the issue simply because of the morning cold air.

The blower is simple, replace it or have it spin at a higher rpm. But I have little faith in dealership mechanics, most of them are just part replacers. Been dealing with semi mechanics most of my life. There is a clear difference between them. Family business runs trucks for a living and being owner operator you tend to figure out problems like this. If it didnt mess with the warranty I would fix it myself.

Almost all issues were not unique to my vehicles. Toyota 3VZE head gaskets-total garbage engine. Ford(too many to even begin to list), Tahoe front axle seals, droopy door hinges, loose seat tracks, '04 Chevy faulty Allison transmission. Passat wacky climate control, and brake issues. Volvo dangerous dead pedal throttle by wire.

Yes, I could write a book.

So this just happened to me yesterday. What does this look like to you? Smoking from the engine (smell) is how I noticed it. Took to nearby dealership. OTW there engine light pops on and battery light. When I got to dealership, they tried to start back up, and completely dead. Only about 1600 miles on it. Already filed case with @RamCares - very disappointed at this time. Guess the true test will be seen on how RAM handles this.

There are those on this and other forums with minor to serious problems with their trucks. It sucks to pay a lot of money for one and have issues with it.

But one thing you need to remember Is that theses forums end up tending to highlight problems and minimize those with good experiences. I think for every person on these forums with issues, there are thousands with nothing but good to say about them. They just don't post much.

I remember when the new JL Wrangled came out, there wrrre driving issues, steering issues, and frame weld issues. You would have thought they were all junk from the chatter on the forums. Yet there were those like me, and many thousands more, who had no issues at all. We were driving the best Jeep ever built!

The new HD Ram is the same way. For each truck with issues there are many, many which have none. Mine is one of those. In 13,000 miles it has been almost flawless. Is it perfect......? No, but the little issues that have occurred, do not detract from the driving experience. It is the best truck I have ever owned.

Do not be afraid of these trucks because of what you read, but rather, use the issues that some have as data points in your thought/buying process. Know that there ARE some issues, but the majority of these trucks are good to go.

I hope you get one and enjoy it like I enjoy mine,

The LED light on the mirror occasionally has condensation... now I don't remember which side.
