2,300 miles and NO problems ... set the B&W hitch in the puck system and all went smooth ... really nice trk ... A/C works good enough that at 94 degrees Pa heat (humid) need to turn the fan down in about 3 or 4 miles ...

That is encouraging, slimcahnce. I too am in the PA heat and humidity, and all this talk of poor AC has me concerned. Would a gas vs diesel engine have anything to do with the AC performance? My order os for a gasser, and I see yours is too.

Mine is Cummins and A/C is fine.

Just spoke to dealership and what you see burned/rusted looking is the grid heater. Mine burned up. That's what i smelled burning and saw smoking.
Glad it was something they can jump on and repair. Thanks for the update. Well I read your other post, I hope they get you fixed asap. I know your upset, and I would be too. Do keep us posted and lets see if that Ram Guy will chime in.

So with 500 miles on my 2500, the AC seems fine in this 100° heat. I had a few times where the radio seemed kind of slow to respond while using android auto. I had 1 random event on the way home from the dealership. I had the cruise not work once until I pulled over and killed the truck. I had cruise on and didn't know how to turn adaptive cruise on and I was pushing the adaptive distance button and adaptive on button while the cruise was set. A message popped up saying something about cruise control not being available and I had to pull over and kill the engine to get it reset. I'm not sure if it was something I did pushing all the buttons trying to figure it out, but it returned to normal after restarting and has worked fine since.

My biggest curiosity is about the bounce with the air bag system. When I left the dealership the front tires were at 60 and the rears at 65. I had a 5 hour trip on I-40 through AR and OK on the way home from the dealership and there were several stretches of road where the road had expansion joints (or whatever they are). On those stretches the truck was bouncing so much it was hard to keep my hand still enough to push a button on the screen. It wasn't really hard or abrasive like my 2013 3500 was, just really bouncy on those stretches at highway speeds. I dropped the psi to 50 in the back yesterday and I think that might have fixed it. I have to do more interstate driving to see for sure.
Anyway, is that normal? Is it that I just need to add some weight to the bed? If so, how much weight? Other than that bounce I was impressed at how much smoother it was than my old 2013 3500.

@Chrluus Is your 2500 a megacab or crew cab? Mine being a megacab (Only recently putting down to 60 psi) it rides really well and doesn't bounce around. Although, I am not sure how the roads are there compared to here in Nevada.

Overall, I have to say my truck is the smoothest riding truck I have ever been in and rides better than some 1/2 ton trucks I have been in. However, the A/C still sucks when the truck gets at operating temperature, so when I drove around after a while (An hour) the air started to become somewhat cool almost lukewarm. A/C shouldn't work that way, it comes out as one temperature and should remain that temp when on Max cold and definitely should be freezing after an hour of riding around. I believe the heater core is definitely interfering with my A/C on the truck. Also our temps get to 110 here and feel like 115 at times. Which 100 is a cool day to us, although if you have humidity (Versus dry heat here) your A/C should actually work better than a dry climate region.

Location
near Lancaster, Pa
it is 92 here in Pa today .... drove 2 hrs in moderately slow traffic .... black trk was sitting closed up in this heat while we ate dinner .... on return, set the A/C to Max air and within 2 miles the trk was cooled down and i had to turn the fan down to 5, which trips off Max air and that is how we had the A/C set for the rest of the trip home ... truck was plenty cool almost cold .... air coming out both sides of the dash seemed the same ... not very scientific but the best i had to do for me

Yeah I hear you. The feels like has been over 100 here but not the temp. I just set it on auto and set it 70 degrees and it's been fine.
I have a crew cab. I bought with air bags because I kept hearing it was the smoothest riding.

Yea, I’ve got a non air 3500 and I think it drives and rides great. As far as the A/C, Ive found it best to have it in auto,
( not A/C ) and turn the temp down and it regulates the fan speed and temp. Mine has 8.4 inch screen so it is pushing one knob vs the other, then set temp. I’m kinda old school and this is the first thermostatic controlled system for me and I tried both ways but I like the auto system the best.

Yes. I'm aware and doesn't matter. It's a small expense and I paid cash for it. And it I think of the cost over time, it's a small cost. Besides, if one electronic part stops working 7 years from now, it'll pay for itself.

Cool... so long as you know... many people pick it up thinking it starts after the manufacturer's warranty and are unpleasantly surprised.

Disappointed to say the least in regards to dealership effort. You would think it was that easy. I didnt buy the truck at the dealership it currently is sitting at. It was the closest one I could get it to without causing any more problems. Been there 7days and only got update because I had to get ram care to call. Was supposed to get pictures and video today of the grid heater. Nothing... I have time tomorrow so im going by in the AM. More than likely gonna get it towed to a different dealership. Going to speak to my ramcare specialist that was assigned to my case also in the AM. Something needs to get figured out here.

You know these days, dealers don't treat you like a one eyed cyclops, just because you didn't purchase from them. At least I hope I'm right.

Ill let you know what Rodeo Dodge says. My bet is “it’s a black truck”.

So, as I thought, here was the reply after they had the truck 3 days:

"Your truck is ready for pick up sir. We test drove it and did extensive testing. It works according to speck and even that short cutting out is normal to avoid that lines freeze up. I know that is not what you're looking for but I added a paper with a bulletin that states the specifics to what you're truck is doing. I just finished your paperwork and was going to text you. Please call customer service and tell them what you're experiencing. FCA customer service 1-800-9921997. Sorry I could not provide you with a solution.''

@RamCares do you have a list going of people who are not happy with their AC in 2019 trucks? My 2016 was so much better..

It works to "speck"? LOL.

At least they could try abbreviating "specification" correctly. But, it was probably written by a brain-numb-millennial-pansy-ass-snowflake.

No offense intended to those who are merely brain-numb.

That is pretty much the same response as over on the 1500 Forum.
It is very likely working as designed... the problem is that it is a poor design and until they take ownership of that, you really aren't going to get very far.

How disappointing, the idea that is cuts out so the lines don't freeze? Well easy solution on that, increase the air flow and no scenario will cause the lines to freeze. Lack of air causes lines to freeze, that's like 101 of HVAC. .

Being I live in what is considered an extreme heat climate. This just deters me away from even trying to work with them, guess I will be fixing the issue that Ram has caused.

AZ heat and 2019 is not a good match.

On my new Ram 2500 Cummins at 1500 miles I had a check engine light with code P24A5 - EGR Cooler Bypass Control Stuck Bank 1. Took it to the dealer and the resolution was: Found cooler valve to be bad replaced egr cooler bypass valve.

All is good so far and very happy with the service at my dealer. I really like this truck!

Found a puddle of red fluid under the front diff, took it to the dealer and they had to replace the brake booster. Not a big deal except had to wait more than a week for the part! At least I had a Ram 1500 as a rental.

Edit: 3,300 miles
