Damn....I am cheap. My 2020 3500 Tradesman CC LB HO Aisin dually with level 2 upgrades was $52.500. And I believe I have a comfortable truck,
You are NOT cheap. You are frugal. LOL My dad always bought vehicles with mostly base trim lines. I didn't inherit that from him. I always went for the top trim lines. But that is what "floats my boat". ;)

One of the first things I did after washing her was to remove the dealership decal:

Considering that it was a new decal, the adhesive was surprisingly stubborn to remove, even with a hair dryer.

After a little elbow grease and a lot of goo gone, it looks much better:

I'm debating de-badging the Longhorn badge and the 4x4 badge, but I haven't decided yet... I might try pasti-dipping them first, and see how that looks.

I also installed the plastic covers for the 5th wheel hitch mounts. They're pretty flimsy, so I might try to find something better. If anyone has other recommendations, please let me know. I've heard some people use rubber pucks, but I haven't found anything on them yet.

My main concern is preventing moisture from getting up into the bed from below. I'm going to have a bed rug, a carpet kit, and a camper shell on the back, so I don't want water splashing up from underneath and getting trapped in the bed, creating mold.

I like how the instructions include how to make it "most pleasing."

I also installed my Bed Rug Bed Mat.

Surprisingly, it wasn't cut correctly to fit, so I had to make some modifications with a pair of scissors, which ended up being really easy.

There was a little too much material at the very end, which prevented it from fitting properly.

After trimming, it fits perfectly:

Since my Rsi Smart Cap won't be here for a few weeks, I picked up a used Truxedo LoPro tonneau cover on Craigslist.

I have a camping trip with the kids coming up in two weeks, and I didn't want to have the Bed uncovered.

The cover is in great shape, and it fits nicely. I'll be selling it once the shell comes in.

I also went around the truck removing all the stickers and plastic that was left on by the dealer, like this:

The sliding portion of the rear window also had a strange sun like pattern stuck on the glass... no idea what it was from, but it was a bitch to get off. Must've been some giant sticker that was on the rear window??

I usually take all of my cars to get tinted after I get them. This truck came with the "tint protection" package from the dealer, which I think means that they just tinted the front windows. (I would've told them not to, if I had caught it in time).

The front windows looked decent at first, so I was thinking maybe I would just leave them as-is, but upon closer inspection they did a horrible job with the tint, and left air bubbles.

It's hard to capture in a photo, but you can see it here:

So, I'm going to take my truck to my tint guy and have him remove the bad tint, redo the front windows, and add a darker tint to the rears. I will probably have it ceramic coated at the same time because after washing it, I can't see any of the "resistall" paint protection that they allegedly applied to the truck. I'm guessing they didn't even do it.

Oh well, a good ceramic coat job is going to be much more effective protection anyways.

I also installed my Weathertech floor liners. I hate to cover up the beautiful Longhorn mats, but I know they'll just get destroyed if I don't.

Factory rear mat:

New Weathertechs installed:

Some people had mentioned that they felt the Weathertechs didn't fit that well in recent years, but I'm happy with how they fit.

Those weather tech mats look great, but it would be better if they didn't partially cover the door sills. I do understand why they designed them that way though.

Dealer stickers are the first thing removed when I buy a vehicle. No free advertisement........now if they paid for that advertisement, we could deal.

I agree. A slight redesign would have left the door sill visible. I think they should either cover the door sill completely or not at all. I had the WeatherTechs in my last truck and really liked them. Probably pass on them for the new truck, especially since the carpeted inserts snap out of the provided floor mats.

For sure. I like the fit and finish of factory all weather floor mats. We have the Mopar all weathers in our Jeep and they're great, as great as floor mats can be I suppose.

The only way I can see myself getting different floormats is if I find them to be too annoying with the carpet snapped out. I haven't played around with it in person, but it looks like there are raised rubber ridges around the carpeted portion. So I could potentially see myself getting annoyed if those things make it "difficult" to slide my feet around freely on long drives, since I tend to move my legs alot to alleviate some of the knee aches that slowly develop.

Obviously we're talking about floor mats here so pretty insignificant in the big picture, but hey, may as well be happy with EVERY aspect of your near 6 figure purchase.
