RAM Mexico Introduces Two More Models To Its 2022 Ram 2500 Lineup:

Big Horn Sport & Limited Night Edition Are Now Available South Of The Border...

As many of you know, the RAM brand’s entire lineup of Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty trucks is manufactured in Mexico. Now, while the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant manufacturers several models and hundreds of configurations of the Heavy Duty, only the Ram 2500 SLT, Ram 2500 Limited, and Ram 4000 Chassis Cab are currently available in the Mexican marketplace. The SLT is basically what we call a Tradesman with the Chrome Appearance Package in the United States and Canada, the luxury-oriented Ram 2500 Limited, while the Ram 4000 is a gasoline-powered Chassis Cab offering specially designed to handle the needs of the Mexican market.

But thanks to some new information that HDRams.com has learned, the new 2022 model year lineup for Mexico is about to get some extensive changes.

While the Ram 2500 SLT and Limited will return for 2022, it will be joined by two new to Mexico models. This includes the popular Big Horn Sport and Limited Night Edition appearance packages. One of the confusing parts of the addition of the Big Horn Sport is that even though it will be identical to the models we have been getting in the United States and Canada since 2019, the package will fall under the SLT model instead of being its own model in the lineup.

The Mexico market 2022 Ram 2500 SLT Big Horn Sport will include the following standard features, body-color grille and fascia accents, front fog lamps, 18-inch aluminum wheels, Big Horn badge, bedside-mounted Sport decals, ParkSense Parking Assist, Garage Release Button, Illuminated Driver, and Passenger Visors, as well as Electrochromic Rearview Mirror. An 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system is also standard.

As for the 2022 Ram 2500 Limited Night Edition model, include a monochromatic design enhanced by a black R-A-M grille, grille surround, badging, black aluminum wheels, and exhaust tips. The headlamps and taillights feature dark bezels, while premium power mirrors with black caps and body-color bumpers are standard. A 17-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, tow hooks, and a tri-fold tonneau cover add even greater appeal to a well-rounded lineup. Limited models will also receive the newly updated 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system for 2022.

All Ram 2500 models in Mexico are powered by the 6.4-liter HEMI “BGE” V8 delivering 410 horsepower and 429 ft.-lb. of torque and mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF. Sorry Cummins fans.

RAM Mexico has released pricing for both packages with the Ram 2500 SLT Big Horn Sport having a $1,094,900 MXN (or about $54,975 USD) Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). That is about $45,000 MXN ($2,260 USD) more than the standard SLT model.

Both vehicles will be on sale in RAM Mexico showrooms during the third quarter of 2021.
