yesterday was Maintenace day. replaced fuel filters and wipers as they decided to fall apart on me on the way to work :| upside, truck runs strong again. guess they were overdue.
These chassis fuel filters are brutal. I tried draining it first the other day and still got a good splash lol. Good IdeaHere's what I made. Absolutely clean filter replacement, without a single drop escaping!
did the same thing last night, still covered. the gf doesn't think i smell as sexy as i do covered in diesel lol! These chassis fuel filters are brutal. I tried draining it first the other day and still got a good splash lol. Good Idea
I'm a diesel mechanic so my wife is well aware of my cologne. At least I work out of town so I'm clean when I come home.did the same thing last night, still covered. the gf doesn't think i smell as sexy as i do covered in diesel lol!
I used to get wet. I found that if you put a hose on the drain, open the drain, and then start loosening the filter until you have an air gap, it will allow it to drain the filter better. I no longer get a bath. These chassis fuel filters are brutal. I tried draining it first the other day and still got a good splash lol. Good Idea
i drained it, and the drainplug even fell out and when i took the cap off i still 2$ of fuel in there.I used to get wet. The trick is to allow airflow into the top of the filter to replace the fuel as it’s draining. Will do I've only Done it a couple times so Ill have to start doing that.
Truxedo carries the stake pocket covers.Installed my new TruXedo. Now I need to find stake pocket covers, the center and rear stake pockets aren't quite covered. Install was easy enough, it went together in about an hour and appears well made. Time will tell.View attachment 70960
never knew i needed those! So I added some lights under my hood so I can under there if I ever have any trouble. Turned out pretty slick.
Did you get the UV coat apples as well?
Yes. Went with the Premium option.Did you get the UV coat apples as well?
You just reminded me to lower my rears back down to 45
Have you ever had success with the recovery mats? I find they are a good idea with minimal results
Yup, exactly what is sitting on my shelf. Plus some Fleetguard air filters. I change mine around 7000 miles since that is all I put on each year.Fresh oil at only 16,498 Mi.
Hate changing it at 64% life left, but it was a bit overdue on time. No regen issues with my truck, but better safe than sorry particularly with all the lifter issues some are seeing. Still quiet as a mouse except for the unfixed chipmunk belt squeak.
I know it's fake (but fun), but 45PSI at idle looks good for the pic. It was 36PSI before the change.
