I looked under my megacab soon after purchase too. If i remember correctly it has the shape of the bucket stamped in the floor sheet metal, but no separate bolt in piece like shown in one of the posts above. However there is no reason you couldn't cut the carpet and sheet metal and install the stock unit from a crew cab if so desired, at least on the drivers side. On the passenger side, the air level compressor (i think) blocks this location on my truck where the the storage bin would hang. I miss these rear storage bins but not enough to cut holes in a brand new truck. Also for my use i normally have the rear seats folded down, this would totally block access for the floor bins.

yup it does make sense. I started with a small square, just to be able to see where the nuts were poking up. you'll end up cutting a square almost equal to the square the 4 nuts make, if THAT makes sense lol it all just squishes together. be sure to have a sharp blade and have fun!!

Looking into this myself, Any idea what years would work for a 2020 3500 DRW. I have the cut outs and been looking, I can find for a new 2500 and some older (10-12) rams but just not sure if changed between model years.

So I took some pics of the bins and carpet in my father-in-law's 2013 2500. These should help with cutting the carpet and foam. The foam is about 3/4 inch thick around the bin cover and only about 1/4 inch thick underneath. I plan to do mine next weekend.

@elephantrider, how does yours look after a while since you did yours? Did the foam squish enough to where the bin lid is "level" with the rest of the floor? I'm wondering if I need to shave off some of the foam so that it looks like the pictures I took today.

OK strange idea/question. Has anyone seen a shorter liner? I would like to have a hidden storage space below for a hand gun that would not be seen. So maybe like a 4 inch gap?

Sometimes can’t be carried into certain buildings or I keep a back up. Would love to do something like my Colorado.
Exactly. Plenty of places you can't carry a legal pistol.I just finished a 10.5 for my new ram. Looking into a locking bin for it and really like your idea.

After putting this off for months, I finally did it. I did the driver side first, then the passenger side. Passenger side went way faster after being to use the driver pieces as a template.
