I have a 2023 2500 Rebel with the 6.4 and 2600mi on it does the same as yours. it's awful, sounds like a old junk! Dealer said it's normal and cannot do anything about it. It sounds like it's coming from the exhaust like two pipes are shaking and squealing until it warms up.

Watch this timestamp of this video. 6.4 Hemi starts up and rolls away from gas station, squeals like a pig. 2 seconds later, f250 starts up and rolls away, sounds fine.

Not normal!

Totally normal…..per the countless posts and dealerships that deny any sort of issue. Believe me…I own a ‘21 and have complained about the chirp since the day I took delivery. For what they cost they sound like a clapped out 2001 with broken manifold bolts.

I contacted FCA and they told me to make an appointment at the dealer for the noise. Truck went in on Wednesday, April 3rd. was there until April 8th. They said they are short on staff. So, there conclusion is that it's normal because two new trucks that they started have the same noise. The service guy said he will contact FCA of there findings which is nothing. How come I don't believe that he will contact FCA.

Rep. from Ram called me after the service. He said the there is nothing to fix because the truck was designed to squeal. What a joke. Maybe they should design it to bark like a dog when it;s cold also. If someone from FSA reads this please respond back why it was designed this way and what and where is the noise coming from. Since it was designed I'm sure you know.

"Designed to squeal?"

That's just about the dumbest thing I've heard on the internet all month. Tell that guy he's an idiot and should find work in a different industry.

My hope is that the 2025 2500 will come with the hurricane as an option. Initial reports are that it's a very quiet engine that doesn't have this y-pipe noise. And even the standard output version exceeds the hp and torque specs of the v8.

Has anyone found a fix to the y pipe noise coming from under the truck.2024 ram 2500 6.4 gas. It started at 100 miles on my truck and it’s still doing it at 500 miles. Took it to get serviced and they said that’s a normal noise for a 65000.00 truck. So I’m beyond pissed off that I paid that money for a truck that sounds like it’s 20 years old

I'm wondering if several layers of exhaust wrap on the y pipe would do the trick. Exhaust wrap has noise insulating properties. Not sure if that would overheat it or create rust problems though.

Wtf is the point of saying this as it isn’t the one person you are answering to that had this problem… it’s hundreds of people on this forum group alone and 10’s of thousands of trucks that all do the same thing? How dumb of a post Ramcare… fix your cats/manifolds as we are 100% sure it is something from the manifold to the cats that is causing the issue

Hi this is my vin 3C6UR5DJ6RG234800 I have 640 miles on it and it started at 20 miles. I’m trying to get help in fixing this problem but every ram tech I take it to says that’s normal, not for 65000.00 it isn’t I have meet many people on the road that have a ram 2500 6.4 and never hand that sound. And when they hear mine they say I need to take it to a ram dealer because something is wrong. It’s so upsetting that Ram is just sitting idle while thousands of people call and complain about this noise and we all get the same answer, it’s normal for that truck. It does it at cold starts and is obnoxious, then once the engine is warm it only does it when in drive and reverse. If you put it in neutral and rev it there is no squeak or chirp but as soon as you put it in gear and give it gas it starts again. My truck is turning heads but not in the way I wanted. I am beyond upset the truck has 640 miles on it. This wouldn’t even be acceptable at 70k it’s like I paid big money for a truck that sounds like it’s been in service since the 80s, i traded in a Nissan Titan cause everyone said Ram was a good company. And made good trucks please prove them right. I haven’t had the truck over 3 weeks and it’s been looked at 3 times and no answers, all they say is drive it some more and see if it goes away!!
