The 1940s were a pivotal era in world history, with the Second World War requiring heavy-duty transport solutions to meet the needs of the military. No less than 38 variants were built on the WC platform, including the Series 26 carry-all body that was featured on the 1941 Dodge Power Wagon WC26 that is up for sale at the Mecum Glendale 2023 auction. This no-expense-spared build is a true marvel of engineering, featuring an array of customizations that make it stand out from the crowd.

One of the key features of this WC26 is the fact that it is an all-steel build, with no Bondo or filler used in the bodywork. The body was removed and media blasted, while the frame was stripped and painted. The engine is a 5.9-liter 24-valve Cummins turbodiesel engine that has been fitted with a custom tune and turbo intercooler, delivering an impressive performance that is sure to impress even the most discerning of buyers.

The engine is fed by a massive 38-gallon custom aluminum fuel tank, while dual deep-cycle Interstate batteries power a FASS fuel system with custom air intake, dual aluminum Griffin radiators, and a custom 4-inch ceramic-coated DynoMax exhaust system. The automatic transmission feeds to a four-wheel drive (4×4) layout with Yukon Gear 5.38 final gear ratios, ensuring that this vehicle is capable of handling any terrain.

The exterior of the vehicle is covered in a custom “desert rat” one-off patina paint, which looks absolutely stunning in the sunlight. The vehicle is also equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a WARN 12,000-pound winch, a factory original flip-out front windshield, and Baja Designs exterior and interior auxiliary lighting. LED headlights and tail lights are housed in custom housings, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal of the vehicle.

The interior of the vehicle is equally impressive, featuring rubberized coating and sound deadening throughout. The custom black and patina interior side and roof panels are complemented by custom billet dash knobs and air vents, as well as front and rear air conditioning. Comfort is provided by TMI front and rear reclining seats, while an Autometer digital dash display and an MB Quart premium sound system ensure that the driver and passengers can stay informed and entertained on even the longest of journeys.
