A bare bones Tradesman has the highest ratings. That should have been your first clue when comparing payload ratings.<br /> <br /> Had you ordered a long bed you also would have a higher payload. I vacillated between models (Trim) but in the end decided I wanted a Limited as the difference between a loaded Bighorn and LTD wasn&#039;t such a huge difference and I will still have 600-700 lbs to spare. I also opted out of the sunroof, not just for payload, but it did effect my decision. My online payload published was dead on with the door sticker @3707. <br /> <br /> You&#039;re 100% correct that YOU should have done your homework. Ask lots of questions if you don&#039;t know.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Maybe this has already been mentioned somewhere else but when I enter my VIN under &quot;Look up my vehicle&quot; under <i>Towing &amp; Payload Capacity</i>, the numbers changed slightly from last Friday when they appeared for the first time under look up. Anyone have this happen? Both my PL and max towing went up 17lbs. Not complaining but I can&#039;t for the life of me figure out why it would change? I just got my window sticker as of 3/29.</div>

They found out real fast that was wrong.<br /> <br /> The payload and towing numbers are much better now.<br /> <br /> Remember that GVWR and GCWR are the numbers that are constant and hold you to your limits.<br /> <br /> Payload is just GVWR minus base weight.<br /> Pretty easy to figure out.<br /> <br /> But max tow is almost impossible to hit.<br /> <br /> Unless you only tow with 300lbs of passenger/cargo and only have a 10% tongue weight...you never hit it.<br /> <br /> The 3500 series has always been spot on with the ratings. The 2500 real close. But for awhile the 1500 crowd was just plain terrible.<br /> <br /> Camping season here is on hold til atleast the 30th of April. I was kind of hoping that maybe the numbers were adjusted last minute because it was weighed one more time before being shipped since the shipping process seem to be somewhat magical given what I read on this forum. <br /> <br /> Regarding max tow, I believe it&#039;s mathematically impossible to hit. <br /> <br /> My config according to the 2019 tow specs (SRW/8&#039; box, CC, diesel 68RFE)<br /> My CW=<b>7725</b><br /> My Max Tow (<b>20575</b> from the &quot;Look up my vehicle&quot;)<br /> My PL = <b>4275</b><br /> GCVR=28300 (2019 Tow chart)<br /> GCVR-CW=20575 <br /> <br /> If my math is correct, no one could possibly tow their max rating pulling a 5th wheel because someone needs to drive the vehicle, let alone connect up to a 5th wheel hitch, etc.</div>
