For all those flying to Mark Dodge and driving home with 2022 orders

I think I got the truck with about 17mpg on it. That dropped to 16.5 between Houston and Austin (part of it was a huge thunderstorm in Houston). From Austin to Fort Stockton, it got back to 17.5. Then hand calc from Fort Stockton to Phoenix was right at 20.2. Even saw some snow going through Fort Hancock.

Must be a SO and/or SRW. My DRW HO got delivered with 15.5mpg, and dropped to about 12 with me driving to NC. But that was worst case unloaded highway MPG due to the weather. Luckily mine has been getting better after every fill up.

my 6.4 with 4:10's first two fill ups got abysmal MPG's I topped it off in NO after picking it up, and I think I got 12ish on the first tank, then 13-14 on the second. The third and fourth I got something like 16-16.5. By the time I got to the fifth fill up, I was at home and fueling on the company card, so I never cared to hand calculate what it was costing me again.

Anyone know what they charge to deliver AFTER the free 250 miles?

We rented a vehicle and drove 825 miles to Lake Charles LA. Spent the night and got in to Mark Dodge before they opened to find our trucks up front and ready to go. We couldn’t leave because we had a hold up with the funds for my truck. They can’t accept ACH, I didn’t know that. Aaron was awesome and we called our banks (Boa for me, Chase for them). I had to send another wire transfer to them. Boa and Chase assured me that the funds I sent via ACH were declined and will come back to my account in a few business days. (Funds did come back)
We hit the road. I was impressed with the truck. I know we were traveling on flat I10 going east but still impressed. MPGs peaked at 18.9 but average for 825 miles was 18.5. We had 2 HO and one 2500 trucks. The 2500 peaked at 19.2 MPG so pretty close to the 3500 HOs.

The trucks ride soo nice. Build quality seems great, will be able to judge better with time and more miles. The other 2 trucks suffered some chips on the front end. I warned them to keep distance but they did seem to follow close to trucks and other vehicles. My truck doesn’t seem to have any chips as I did keep plenty of distance between vehicles in front.

The screen is amazing. 920 miles already on the truck and not a single glitch or issue. Hope it stays that way.

There she is in the driveway. What a beautiful truck. Was it worth the 4 months wait? Hell yes, I would of waited 6 months to get this again and save 10k with MD deal.

One thing I would have done differently, order the damn running boards. Completely forgot about them. Now I’ll have to pay double for the oem steps. Definitely needs steps. Very tall truck.

Sorry for the long post.

Within 250 miles, they have their own runners that do the deliveries. Outside that, they put it out to carriers to quote for the delivery. They can give you a ballpark estimate.

Beautiful truck, congrats! I really like the look of the NFab wheel to wheel steps on the night edition mega cabs. They are about $500 and its 6 bolts each one to install.

For the people driving East towards Atlanta what's the better route I- 65 or I-20. Probably have them meet me at NO Airport. That would saved me a good 1/2 day

I drove i10 to I65 to I85. No issues. Pretty straight road. No major cities so no traffic.

I'd never been that far down so haven't been on either. Says it's about 12 hr going I65 to I85. Depending on MPG might not have to stop for fuel but when picking the truck up.

Mine was 18.5-18.9 on I10-I65. Once I got to 85 and through Atlanta the hills started and faster speed so it brought down my MPGs.
3500 HO single wheel megacab.

Hello All! I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas. My sincere apologies for not posting sooner...life. The drive back from Mark Dodge was completely uneventful!! I averaged 23.7 mpg @ 65 mph over 1000 miles. She ran perfect. As far as notes fro the trip, fuel averaged about 3.30 a gallon, iI did use Hotshot Secret Everyday Diesel Treatment after the second tank of fuel. Traffic for the trip was non existent considering the trip was from Louisiana to Virginia; 10 to 65 to 85 to 58 to Hampton Roads nightmare (64). My experience with Mark Dodge has been flawless from start to finish. I even called them today about a concern...they are willing to do what ever it takes...in addition doing the research to ensure when they talk to you they are well informed. I am grateful this report is boring has nothing to report.

Again apologies for not being on sooner (over the last three weeks) it has just been blah!

Please be safe. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Randy

I ordered mine with stock chrome bumpers so I won't have to deal with paints chips which is the price to pay for a painted bumper
The last 3 rams I had all had chrome bumpers. I absolutely hated the look and made sure to order the 22 with painted bumpers. Rock chips are definitely making me question that decision lol. I never realized how much the chrome was blocking possible rock chips.

For the painted bumper chips I am sure you could get a 3M clear bra to put over the paint. I did that on my BMW and it worked really nice. But it is some work to do it proper.
Or some money to find somebody to do it for you.
Not sure how the 3M bra kits come but you could just do the most vulnerable areas and/ or leave the complicated shapes off.
Maybe worth looking into that?

I am not worried on my truck since it is white and so far paint chips are not super obvious. Also my truck is not a showcar (yours might be though :) ).

Edit, added screenshot. (just FYI, I am not a business or benefiting from that in any way)

Yeah the 3m stuff is pricey, I have been trying to talk the guy at work into doing it for me lol. My truck is by no means a show truck, even my dakota which would go to car shows I never considered a show truck. I just want to keep it looking new as long as possible.

Anyone spend an extra day or two and charter fishing or otherwise before heading home? And did you wait until the truck arrived at the dealer before booking flights?
