For all those flying to Mark Dodge and driving home with 2022 orders

I just noticed this morning when I cancelled my last order and re-ordered with another dealer, I apparently missed a couple options that I wanted. Seeing all of the MD posts has me thinking about re-ordering with MD, but worried about what the diesel truck market may do between now and when that truck would arrive due to the rising gas prices. If I didn't have a deadline, i would just cancel my current order (hitting the dealer any day now) and re-order now, but I have to have the truck mid-April so a re-order wouldn't make it in time.
I think you're right that shooting for a mid-April delivery on a re-order is not going to work. Can you add the options you missed later at a reasonable costs?

Don't think so. It is things like Towing Technology Group B (Surround View Camera System, Trailer Reverse Guidance), Digital Rearview Mirror, Tow-Mode Digital RR View Mirror Pkg & Body Color Bumper Group

Truck is suppose to get to Port Allen today, how does it get there? I just assumed rail, but going to a port ?

Port Allen, LA, is on the west side of the Mississippi River just across from Baton Rouge. I understand the trucks come up from Mexico by rail through SE Texas to Port Allen. Then they get unloaded and driven west to MD in Lake Charles. The Mississippi at Baton Rouge is still extremely wide and deep enough for huge river barges coming up from the gulf.

I'd thought I had read that it was rail but when it said Port, I thought maybe they went up the gulf. I've only known of a couple vehicles I've ordered that had come by ship.

Mine is supposed to be on the train with yours. Let me know if you hear any updates.

How many miles were on your guys' trucks when you picked them up at Mark Dodge? I was hoping there'd be less than 10 miles on mine.

Some tips I'll throw in since I just got back from my 1500 mile drive back from MD...

Tire pressures are #1. I'd actually request MD to set them for you so it's ready to go when you arrive. My dually fronts were 95, rear inners 90, and rear outers 70. Once I spent the 30 minutes to get them adjusted to 70 front and 55 rear, it rode like a dream compared to when I rolled off the lot. Be sure to take a gauge with you.

If your DEF tank isn't full, be sure to top it off immediately. The worst thing for DEF systems is to be partially full, as the empty part of the tank starts to crystallize in the presence of air. Keeping the DEF tank indefinitely full is the safest bet during summer (3/4 during winter so it has room to freeze and expand).

I took an infrared thermometer to help monitor the rear diff. If it gets over 300° while breaking in, you're supposed to stop and let it cool off. My huge 12" dually rear end never got over 160°, though.

I also took my weathertech mudflaps with me to install. Just need an 8mm gearwrench to put them on.

I also strongly encourage you to get the BEM Auto (available from Geno's Garage) fuel and def caps. My diesel fill port was already covered in dust by the time I made it home. Definitely don't' want that garbage getting into my fuel system.
