Automatic Regen too often

My self to be sure I did not void my warranty I wound not use Docs Diesel fuel filters, I use either Mopar or Fleetguard fuel & air filter, as for oil either Fleetguard or Donaldson EFL 7349
They know all this and have pushed back absolutely none. As stated I use fleetguard or Mopar for air filter, and docs for fuel and oil. There is absolutely nothing in the manual that says I have to use only Mopar products. Or at least nothing I've found. With that said, I do understand your position.

Wish I could correct my post to MBarber - meant Fleetguard not filter guard on the air filter....

Here is what my owners manual I downloaded for the 2022 states about fuel filters and I quote: {Must meet 3 micron rating (engine mounted filter). Must meet 5 micron rating (chassis mounted filter).} Doc diesel filters do not meet the 3 micron rating requirements or I should say did not back in 2022 and have doubts they have made changes based on what I read at the time...

Per an email directly from docs - they filter down to 3 micron... I emailed them as I am aware of this in the manual.

You can even find that info online without emailing them directly.

Also, oil filters, per my email - filter to 25 micron. Shouldve included that above

At what percentage? And what SAE and/or ISO standard?

I'm really surprised being in early 22 they claimed that no one had a 3 micron fuel filters, if your dealer will let you use them good for you, my self will keep on using Fleetguard FS53000 that way if my fuel system takes a crap FCA cant blame it on a 3rd party fuel filter...

Who claimed this? This is news to me. Also, I did not buy my first filter from them until about 9-10,000 miles which was in roughly June of 2023 just before heading to Wyoming in July (the trip was the reason for the oil change - oil still looked good but didn't want to take a 3000 mile round-trip and have issues)

99.9% per the email, but no clue on SAE as they didn't specify.

That's an interesting rating, usually something like 3µ or 5µ would be absolute, or 98.7%.

99.9% at 3µ is so surprising I have a hard time believing it, especially with a cellulose glass media.

All I can give is the info they provide. Other then my ecodiesel, I've never owned a diesel. With that said, docs never gave my eco any issue and I emailed them for the specs on their filters when I bought it new in 2016. You're more then welcome to contact them directly as well. They have a contact us email on their website.

Doc Diesel

I posted a question on their online store (public question) as far as micron ratings for the fuel filter, and intend to screen shot and post the picture of their response.
Based on what I've read on others posts in other sections of this forum, and the concern now due to 56Ram and AH64 posts - looks like Genos gets my future business. $173 for all filters isn't much more then Doc's

I found some specs on their website for the engine mounted filter. 7µ at 99.9% and 5µ at 98.7%.

While the owners manual doesn't state the % required it's going to be absolute, so OEM is 3µ at 98.7%.

The only issue is that Doc's isn't using the same standard that Ram is. The SAE J1985 isn't a bad rating, but it's not apples to apples and it should be if they want to demonstrate that the filters meet OE spec. I'd like to see data on the Doc's to see if it matches the OEM FS53000's rating of ISO 4406 12/9/6.

I have no idea if I can post my email from them, but here's docs amazon store with specs listed for oil filter

Not a bad filter rating or price, but for not much more I'll stick to my Donaldson DBL7349 filter with a 7µ absolute rating. My second choice would be the Fleetguard Stratopore, since I like synthetic media.

I'm going to copy and paste what you wrote and see if I can get a response. Thank you for your info

Their stuff has been proven to be subpar and problematic over the past few years. If you take the time to compare their products with those from the OEM filter manufacturers (Fleetguard and Parker-Hannifin / Baldwin) it’s not very difficult to see the difference in quality of construction. If you take the time to cut their filters open and compare to the OEM there’s no comparison between the two. I’ve also replaced several of their primary fuel filters on 2018 and older trucks, which caused no-start conditions or at the very least low fuel pressure codes due to poor construction. I’ve also seen several of their engine oil filters where the media separated from the canister internally. The quality difference between Docs and OEM is sufficient enough that I avoid them. In truth, if you take the time to source the OEM filters directly from their manufacturers distributors (not Ram Dealers), the price difference isn’t worth going outside of OEM. I can buy both OEM fuel filters, a better oil filter than OEM, and the same engine air filter for $180 at my local International trucks dealership which is one mile from my house. Compared to the $120 docs charges for subpar products and cheaper quality. That $60 savings isn’t worth it when it comes to maintenance on a $100k vehicle. Geno’s garage also offers a very reasonably priced OEM filter kit ($175 for the four filters I mentioned) I also find it very interesting that Doc’s does everything in their power to systematically eradicate any negative reviews or comments attached to their products. I wonder why that is? IMG_3841.jpeg
