Just wanted to share how i installed my ARB air compressor... it’s been a long time coming. I bought this compressor for my Chevy Colorado a few years ago but never got to install it before trading the truck

Decided I would mount it under the rear seat it the Ram last summer, and routed air lines to the front and rear bumpers using a bulkhead fitting and and existing penetration/body plug in the cab under the carpet in the storage area under the seat.

I built a little bracket for the air connector in the front bumper, and just installed it directly into the rear bumper. Used ARB quick connectors (they are super easy to connect/disconnect, and got Dust caps to keep them clean)

Installed the SwitchPros last month, which serves as the on/off switch, but still had to wire it directly to the battery with a relay since it requires a 40amp fuse and 10ga wiring. Routed all the wiring under the carpet/door sills.

Finally actually got the bracket made, and installed the compressor, shortened the excess wire, and connected it all up!

Nicely done!

Clean install! Did you do any type of rubber isolators on the compressor mounting bolts to reduce noise/vibration or is the ARB compressor pretty tame?

it has some integrated rubber washers on the bolts between the blue aluminum collar and the “foot” bracket. But yeah it’s pretty tame, especially with the seat down over it. I wouldn’t want it running when I’m driving around, but tolerable if I’m airing up and trying to stay in the truck out of the weather.

Is the compressor unit under on the passenger side rear seat? Like where the sub woofer is if you have the upgraded stereo?

2019+ have the sub behind the rear passenger seat, not under
Unfortunately they must have switched to that in 2020. My 2019 has the sub under the rear passenger seat.

It’s under the drivers side rear seat. The sub is under the passenger side of the rear seat on my truck (2019 with alpine sound system).

Looks good. How is the heat from the compressor with the seat down? I’m sure it gets hot.

Any pics of your Switch Pro mount, the wire portion not the switch inside. I have a 2012, non-PW that I built a bracket to go up by the brake booster and mounts to the cowl. No pics yet, not installed.

I haven’t run it hard/long yet, but yes I expect it will get pretty hot, but there is a decent air gap behind the seat to draw air. The compressor is pretty close to the carpet at the rear, I’ll have to keep my eye on it to make sure it doesn’t melt...I don’t think the blue bracket/heat sink will get as hot as the actual compressor motor/pump head fortunately.

i used the SDHQ bracket which puts the power module right in front of the relay box.

I am thinking of installing in my RamBox....But that looks good...I am getting either the ARB dual compressor or a VIAIR System....Not sure which yet....Thanks!

@el_barto you've had this set up for a while now. Are you happy with the compressors performance without a tank? Would you add or change anything?

Have the push fittings been reliable? What size is that air line and do you feel like it moves air well enough?

I ordered the same compressor and two of the ARB couplers with covers yesterday. Need to source a few more parts.

Just another option, I used the NH Overland bracket for the ARB dual. It puts the compressor on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Very happy with it so far. No pics, but I can grab one if anyone is interested.

I wish I could have done this, but not an option for the CTD models. Since I'm running 37's now, I just removed my spare and put the ARB Dual compressor and 2.5 gal tank back there. Morrflate arriving today.
