Adding adaptive cruise

I have a Tradesman standard cab no roof lights and I did have a harness already there. It was for the two antennas on the roof. Really easy to replace with the new harness though, if anything it helped having one to follow and use the same clip holes. Took about an hour to swap out, no issues at all. Pull the weather stripping, remove the grab handles (2x10mm bolts) and A pillars (pull once unbolted), then pop the side panel open. Trace the old harness removing the visors (2x8mm bolts and 1xT20 torx) then remove the overhead console (2x8mm bolts and clips). One remaining 8mm bolt and the passenger side headliner drops down with plenty of room at the windshield. Do same for the drivers side as m the harness goes to an antenna over there too.

I don’t have my DASM or new windshield installed yet, so i just left the extra clips tucked in headliner over the sunglasses holder for future install completion.

Panel removed showing where new connector plugs in and the two other connectors (blue and white) behind a pillar. Old harness also shown for reference.

Harness, buttons and new mirror installed. Waiting for the DASM to arrive (expected today!) and then will schedule windshield. Replacing the harness wasn't awesome but not terrible either.

For those of you with the rain sensor does that swap from the old windshield to the new or is that part of the windshield?

Here is a summary I made from Jimmy's original post but also adding the autodim switch if you had it before.

VehConfig 2: Cruise Control Present- NO
VehConfig 7: Type of adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system present- ACC with stop
VehConfig 7: Full Speed Range Forward Collision Warning Plus System- YES
CustSetMenu 1: Forward Collision Warning CSM Present- Feature 2 - 3 Option
CustSetMenu 2: Forward Collision Warning Single Setting (Warning and Brake) CSM Present- YES
P/T Chassis Net: ACC/DASM Adaptive Cruise Control/Driver Assistance Module- ENABLE

I had the other autodim so to switch to the new mirror/DASM combo I need to change also:
2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Auto High Beam Module Location to “IRCM”

@Jimmy07

Local Autoglass company can not find this part number:
68362490AB

However they can find this one:
68362492AB

Is the second one compatible? Maybe superseded? I can't find any information to that effect online....

I explained the situation to the glass company and they understand what I'm doing. They are even willing to get a few different windshields in to make sure it's the right one. "Forward collision alert" that seems to be their wording for the DASM mounting. They show one that doesn't say FCW and one that does. All of them seemingly have the rain sensor mount. I haven't been able to find anything online and both seem proper part numbers for a 21 RAM 2500.

Also to note they understood they are not doing any calibrating/etc. However they are asking for paperwork to prove it has been done "for insurance reasons". Which in my case is not a problem because I do have a local dealer that agreed to do the calibration for me. They are aware of exactly what I'm doing. Just thought I would bring it up for others in case they get this question too.

Those two part numbers are both for DASM. The only difference between the two is 68362490AB is not acoustical glass, and 68362492AB is acoustical glass (used on trucks with the HK system, more expensive).

Also out of curiosity, here is a photo of the connectors at the mirror after the harness swap. They are all labeled (the rain senor is plugged into the rain sensor) what is the longest one? It even has provisions for connecting to a bracket with a standoff (outlined with the red oval).

Edit: updated photo to reflect Jimmy07s response for others.

The one in question is the de-icer grid for the DASM. Its connector provision is on the windshield.

My 2020 Bighorn with the Alpine system lists the acoustic glass in the build sheet.

Was it an option? I don’t have the level two package.

I believe My 2020 2500 Laramie with Alpine also has acoustical glass, 68362491AB.
Thinking it is standard with 6.7?

@Jimmy07 I want to confirm, will any year DASM work on any truck? I have a 2020 power wagon, can I use any year DASM?
Any year DASM will work, but I would avoid 2019 in case it hasn’t been updated with the TSB flash that addresses cruise control surging.

@Jimmy07 Had the dealer take the DASM out of Plant mode today and do the calibration. Apparently initially that all went well and he said he completed calibration. Then somehow I think he wiped my alfaobd config trying to clear a "Vehicle configuration mismatch" DTC. So now I've gone back in and re-enabled what I did above in AlphaODB but I'm still getting an error. "ACC Unavailable Service Required"

I gave him your instructions which he followed. I do not know "when" during all this he wiped the config. Also remember this was not a "used" DASM but a new one from a 2022. So I don't know if that changes anything.

These are the only things I have changed:

VehConfig 2: Cruise Control Present- NO
VehConfig 7: Type of adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system present- ACC with stop
VehConfig 7: Full Speed Range Forward Collision Warning Plus System- YES
CustSetMenu 1: Forward Collision Warning CSM Present- Feature 2 - 3 Option

P/T Chassis Net: ACC/DASM Adaptive Cruise Control/Driver Assistance Module- ENABLE
2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Auto High Beam Module Location to “IRCM”

So maybe I missed something too because I've checked them about 5 times now.

Hope yours gets resolved, I'm having the windshield put in right now. I made the changes in AlfaOBD the other day prior to installing the DASM to make sure I found all the right settings and now I get Service Trailer Breaks. Even after setting all back the way they were before the program changes. Hopefully this will go away after installing the DASM.

If it was a brand new DASM, you do not enter plant mode like my screenshot instructions, those are only for a used DASM. Sounds like he restored the vehicle configuration after that.
You’re going to have to have him do the alignment again. This time he’ll clear all DTCs first, then he WILL have to put the DASM in plant mode, then perform auto alignment, then clear DTCs again. Tell him under no circumstances, do not restore the vehicle configuration.

@Jimmy07 just checking, now that i have the DASM installed and all the correct settings changed with AlfaOBD, prior to getting with the dealer, is it normal to see the errors that ACC not available, needs service? What should I see prior to the dealership programming. Using a used DASM. I'd hate to pay a dealership just to find out I have a bad used DASM Thanks for your help!

If everything is set correctly, there should only be a message for ACC unavailable when you actually try to use cruise control. The only fault should be just the vehicle configuration mismatch in the DASM.

Here is what I get on the display, notice the present warnings top left bottom right.
