Adding adaptive cruise

Here is what I get on the display, notice the present warnings top left bottom right.
It’s been a while since I did this, so I can’t remember if the orange symbols were illuminated before calibration, but I think they were. I never go into my messages menu, so I wouldn’t know if that is always there, but that message does pop up if if you try turning cruise control on before calibration.

@Jimmy07 Had the dealer take the DASM out of Plant mode today and do the calibration. Apparently initially that all went well and he said he completed calibration. Then somehow I think he wiped my alfaobd config trying to clear a "Vehicle configuration mismatch" DTC. So now I've gone back in and re-enabled what I did above in AlphaODB but I'm still getting an error. "ACC Unavailable Service Required"

I gave him your instructions which he followed. I do not know "when" during all this he wiped the config. Also remember this was not a "used" DASM but a new one from a 2022. So I don't know if that changes anything.

These are the only things I have changed:

VehConfig 2: Cruise Control Present- NO
VehConfig 7: Type of adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system present- ACC with stop
VehConfig 7: Full Speed Range Forward Collision Warning Plus System- YES
CustSetMenu 1: Forward Collision Warning CSM Present- Feature 2 - 3 Option
CustSetMenu 2: Forward Collision Warning Single Setting (Warning and Brake) CSM Present- YES
P/T Chassis Net: ACC/DASM Adaptive Cruise Control/Driver Assistance Module- ENABLE
2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Auto High Beam Module Location to “IRCM”

So maybe I missed something too because I've checked them about 5 times now.
Can I ask what the dealership charged you to do the calibration? I was quoted over $500.00

I would question them hard on how they are arriving at that price. They drive the truck for 15 minutes tops, and the procedure is native to wiTECH (they don’t have to “purchase” anything from stellantis to be able to run the alignment). Figure most dealers round up the labor time, and it’s an hour labor you should be paying at most. I believe they’re at $155/hr in my area.

Thanks, that's what I figured, we have a pretty crooked dealer here. I'll try a different dealership.

If it was a brand new DASM, you do not enter plant mode like my screenshot instructions, those are only for a used DASM. Sounds like he restored the vehicle configuration after that.
You’re going to have to have him do the alignment again. This time he’ll clear all DTCs first, then he WILL have to put the DASM in plant mode, then perform auto alignment, then clear DTCs again. Tell him under no circumstances, do not restore the vehicle configuration.

Just so I'm clear when I go back.

Make my settings changes in AlfaOBD (already done)

Clear all DTCs first
Then put DASM in PLANT mode
Then perform auto alignment
Then clear DTCs again.

Assuming the auto alignment takes it out of plant mode?

Correct.

Tried new dealership today, said won't due for less than 3 hours at $200 per hour. Guess I might be looking at the yellow errors for awhile

$200 an hour? What kind of insane labor rate is that? Where are you that the dealers are so terrible?

I will tell you I feel like I found a great dealer. I drive an hour and pass 4 other Ram dealerships to get there....but so far it's worth it.

Probably too far away for me.. might just have to pay their ransom demands.

Was just at dealer. He actually let me sit with him while we did this. I still have system configuration mismatch on the DASM. I even rode with him for the calibration and all that ran fine. Bit keeps coming back with that DTC even after following procedure above. Any ideas?

Try changing VehConfig 1: Model year to 2022. Then clear that fault and see what happens.

It was already set at 2022 ... So I did try the opposite and changed it back to 2021 and he cleared the codes again. But it's still there.

For a brand new DASM do you need to put it in plant mode or just go right to auto alignment? Does it really matter? I’ll be doing this all through WiTech anyways.

As for alignment, instructions say DASM must be within a certain angle. Am I missing something that wouldn’t it matter how level I am parked etc or do I zero out based upon windshield first, then measure the -1.0. Maybe it doesn’t need to be that precise so just park “level” and measure.

Final parts coming in here (some have taken weeks) and glass goes in tomorrow so should be wrapping this up myself.

Sure hope you get this resolved. I was able to strike a deal with a dealer I had previous issues with during the Y78 recall to charge me no more than one hours labor. Scheduled for a couple of weeks from now. Would LOVE to see your success prior to my appointment!

According to @Jimmy07 that was my mistake in the first place. It didn't need to go into plant mode the first time.

I wondered the exact same thing. I did align it at home but had the tech check it. I did it on level ground. He confirmed what I did was correct and double checked the DASM angle. Mine also did calibrate fine.

I don't know if it's because I used a new DASM or because it's a 2022 and I have a 21. Wondering if I need a different DASM at this point just waiting for Jimmy to chime back in. Tech at the shop is more than willing to work with me to get this figured out. Would be REALLY nice to have my own WiTech though. Then I could try different settings and re-calibrate.

Thanks, sounds easy enough but always want to double check. The angle had me most curious.

It’s definitely worth buying a cable and getting setup with WiTech. Pays for itself after the first time not going to dealer. WiTech subscriptions for a few days are cheap.

Have you made any progress?
