Got the Bak Revolver x4s installed yesterday. 3rd time opening it and the cable came off the driver side latch. I called Bak and explained that I wasn’t thrilled with the situation of having a broken unit before I could even register the warranty online. They are sending me a new locking mechanism assembly kit asap. Of course, with very little effort (2 screws) I was able to discover that the factory didn’t crimp the crimp thus allowing the cable to come right out.
When I returned home, I got my crimping tool and took care of it. I checked the right side as well and that was barely crimped. I took care of that and put it all back together. When I was working on the right side, I realized that I had buried the driver side cable like a moron. I caught a case of the duma$$ and didn’t route the cable through the plastic housing cover before I crimped it straight to the locking mechanism. So now I only have access to the passenger side cable to open the cover. At least it works. When the new one comes in, I’ll redo the cable and it’ll be 100%.
