Uconnect 5 Software Will Be Coming To The 2022 Ram Heavy Duty Lineup:

New Infotainment System Updates For 2022 Ram 2500/3500/4500/5500...

One of the most popular options on the Ram pickups these days is the 12-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. The 12-inch Uconnect system has led the truck segment in technology, with split-screen capability, 360-degree camera views, and exclusive content from SiriusXM (being the first in the industry to launch 360L) and the new Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora feature. But as the market catches up, we have seen other Stellantis vehicles debut the company’s latest Uconnect 5 software. This has left many wondering when will the Ram Truck lineup get the new Uconnect 5 update?

If they are smart, they will have the ability to let the customer pick their cellular carrier. Being locked in to AT&T is a complete disaster.

I'm hoping little things like triggering the side mirror cameras with the turn signal gets included. Not sure if that is a UC thing or not.

This is great! I’ve was severely dissatisfied with the 12. I much preferred all my 8.4s. It’s time for the update.

So, will we be able to upgrade software in our 2021's??

Per the article:

"The Uconnect performance upgrade starts with its hardware. The system processing power, reaction speed, and memory have been enhanced to take advantage of the new Android operating system. The Atlantis architecture replaces Powernet as the next generation of Stellantis core in-vehicle electronics communication. In combination with an upgraded 50K MIPS chip, 6GB of RAM, and up to 64GB of flash memory, the Uconnect 5 delivers operating speeds that are five times faster when compared to the previous generation. Faster processing speeds, advanced electrical architecture, and more memory give the Uconnect its lightning-quick response to touchscreen input."

So no... it will not be backward compatible on 19-21 RAMs...

Yeah... I'm sure someone will try to get the new HU to work in the '21 and earlier trucks but with all the computer brains in these new vehicles, no idea if it would be that simple.

On a positive note, trade in values are insane so you can order a 22 and probably come out ahead :D

As @Jimmy07 has posted in another thread, the new setup has different connectors than the old. I expect he'll be the first to do one if the parts can be sourced.

No, I didn't see the post, but honestly not surprised they did that... here's hoping there's an adaptor..

I am looking to order soon. Do we know if the UC 5 will come on the non-nav version of the 8.4 or do you have to upgrade?

Is anyone having issues where your radio presets are gone or disappeared after the trucks been off more than five or 10 minutes

Unless you have a 2022, it’s not UC5.

Mine must be 4 then.
