So I have an initial opinion after about 160 miles.....probably 60% on highway.
They are very quiet. Subjectively, they seem much more quiet than the stock 'Stones.
The truck does roll a little more in corners, but that is to be expected due to the taller sidewalls.
The 285/75-18 should be stock from the factory (my opinion of course). At 11" wide, there has been no issje with rubbing at full lock on stock wheels. At the same time, you pick up about .8" of ground clearance, which makes this tire a real winner to me.
I'll be testing them for traction in the woods this week.
The downside appears to be fuel economy. I've not run a full tank through the truck yet, I think I'm going to lose 2 mpg even with a correction for the different circumference. The larger tire gives me an effective gear ratio reduction to around 3.54, which you would think might give better economy......but the tires are larger and heavier which takes more power to turn. We'll know the truth shortly.....
Overall, these tires were a good purchase for me. I'm willing to take the hit on economy for the increase in capability!
