So I have an initial opinion after about 160 miles.....probably 60% on highway.

They are very quiet. Subjectively, they seem much more quiet than the stock 'Stones.

The truck does roll a little more in corners, but that is to be expected due to the taller sidewalls.

The 285/75-18 should be stock from the factory (my opinion of course). At 11" wide, there has been no issje with rubbing at full lock on stock wheels. At the same time, you pick up about .8" of ground clearance, which makes this tire a real winner to me.

I'll be testing them for traction in the woods this week.

The downside appears to be fuel economy. I've not run a full tank through the truck yet, I think I'm going to lose 2 mpg even with a correction for the different circumference. The larger tire gives me an effective gear ratio reduction to around 3.54, which you would think might give better economy......but the tires are larger and heavier which takes more power to turn. We'll know the truth shortly.....

Overall, these tires were a good purchase for me. I'm willing to take the hit on economy for the increase in capability!

Fuel economy update!

First tank with the new tires and about 50/50 city/highway was 14.3 hand calc'd with an odometer correction. That's not good news.

The transforce tires are horrible. I had them on my truck for 15,000 miles and then they needed to be replaced. Tread vanished pretty fast. And then towing on the way home from a trip I had a blow out. Replaced them all with Kumho tires and but another 10,000 on those are they're great.

I had the very same luck with the Transjunks on my '15. Nearly to the wear bars at 13K miles. There would be globs of rubber on the edges of tread blocks like they were made of sponge rubber. I have read equally poor reviews of the Nexens that will be on my new dually when it arrives. I am debating whether to ride them out, or sell them on CL as take-offs, and start out with good rubber. It is a crime that decent tires are not at least offered as an option.

Howdy,
2019 2500 Limited w/ air suspension

Got my new tires on. Not that I wanted to go larger, but a tire with better traction.

Close to the stock TransForce A/T, since its a 65 ratio, the tire itself is 1 inch taller.

Howdy,
OK, looking for some ideas.
2019 Ram 2500 Limited, 6.7L diesel, CCSB with rear air suspension.
Factory 285/60 R20 TransForce A/T

I have to replace these highway tires...
What size options are a good to go right now?
Factory 285/60 R20
1 bump 295/? R20
2 bump 305/? R20

Haven't decided about keep factory rims, or get new rims. Haven't thought about any leveling either..

I would also like to know my options of a larger tire with the same Ram specs on a 20” wheel. Really would like Nitto Ridge Grapplers or BFG All Terrains instead of the OEM Firestone tires.

Looks great! Is that the largest you could go without rubbing?

Howdy,
I just needed good traction. I bumped to the 65 ratio to get the 50k mileage warranty tires. The specs compared to factory TransForce A/T are similar, about 1 inch taller. Hopefully someone will have some good info about sizing up tires which work.

I went with the same size as what was on there and got the tires that had the best reviews when it came to towing. Your off road tires tended to be softer and wear out faster when towing so that was something I had to consider.

In my experience we can fit 35x12.5 on stock rims with minimal to no trimming at all. This is because if you look at every manufacture out there they are not truly the size they say they are. For example a 35" x 12.5" Nitto Ridge Grappler tire is actually, 34.76" tall. Each tire from different manufacturers will be slightly larger or smaller than the size they call for. Almost all sites that sell tires will give you the specs on the tire.

I have found out that the more important question to ask is, are these tires rated high enough for the weight that my truck is designed to carry. It is more important to find the load rating on the tire and make sure it will work for what you plan to do with your truck.

Stock rims, 35x12.5 Ridge Grapplers. No trimming needed but it does have a 2" level in the front. Factory rear air.

Can you post a link to your 2" front leveling kit? I am also getting the rear air ride, I would like to know which leveling kit works with the 3500 and air ride.

Dealer put on this one:

Only problem is the front sits slightly higher than the rear, so it's a temporary solution for me. There are guys on the other forum that have installed the 1.75 Thuren springs, which is probably just about perfectly level. I want the whole truck to sit just a touch higher so I'm going to need to find something that raises the back end an inch or two. Looks like Carli has some stuff in the works for that:

I ended buying 295x60 20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers for my OEM wheels. Looks good to me and zero clearance issues. These Ridge Grapplers ride great too.View attachment 659

Going to get the same size installed soon. Can you post a rear and front view please? The stock Firestone’s are way too skinny for this mule......thanks!

Any updates on the Falken Wildpeak AT3 ?
How do they handle with the bed fully loaded (Truck camper)

Hmmm.. I just noticed the 295/75R18 129R has 4080 lb rating vs the 275/75R18 125S 3640 lb

Anyone with 295s - would that still still leave room for tire chains? Only 3% taller than stock so it should be fine that way.

I got new yokoham Geolander MT G0003s in the bed of the truck for a month, waiting for new rims, went 35s R20 and had the Trnasforce HTs, which I would trust with my life. Buddy runs STT Pros on his diesel Denali but seem to wear fairly quickly, he had the older Coopers, ST or something and got better mileage wear, and the STT pros seem loud as they wear. Geolander MTs supposed to be quiet, wear well, and has side wall protection. Pretty new tire, but had good luck with Geo ATs previously in a half ton. I think the Wildpeaks are good to but little heavier beyond the Yokos.
