The click when you press the brake is the park-brake interlock. It’s unlocking the shift lever so you can move it out of park.

Thanks for that info. Was wondering what that noise was, and was going to go to the dealer. Although probably still will as it will clunk 3 or 4 times in a row. (along with some other issues).

I hate to sound so picky but for 70k I did expect to get a better built truck! I am a Chrysler Retiree and feel a sense of loyalty and figured by having this one built it would be good? I traded in a 2019 1500 that the dealer told me would pull a 8x16 bike trailer with mine and my wife’s Harley’s in it and that was a no go! Absolutely terrible mileage and trailer was all over the road at 65 mph. Truck had factory Class 4 hitch and factory trailer brake controller. Took me 240 gallons to go 1200 miles.....that’s 5mpg pulling a total of around 6k lbs and truck was rated for 13900lbs. 8 speed tranny kept sounding like it was gonna blow up, it would kick down and go to 4K rpm and stay there until you hit the brake and slowed to 45......:-0 I thought I would never make it home!
Dealer and FCA made it right and I ordered and bought this 2019 2500 CTD that’s pulls like a train at an average of 16mpg. It’s all the other “issues” that has me thinking maybe I need to go to a GMC Denali next. I get tired of hearing from the dealer........”that’s normal”. Again, sorry for the rant!

Hi Wileykid, if it would be of interest, we would be more than happy to escalate a case on your behalf so that a case specialist can work alongside you and your dealer to explore all potential solutions to this concern.

I appreciate your sincere concern!!!! I will attempt to let my dealer try to get these things taken care of before I take the next steps....:-/ Like I said I already have a case number for the heated seats and continue to hear “it’s normal” , I for one don’t think so but what am I to do? We will see what the dealer comes up with and how concerned they really are about making it right. I sure don’t want to leave the Ram family but at the end of the day it’s about getting quality for your hard earned money. Just very frustrated right now with FCA!

Thanks, will do if needed. Have to give them an opportunity to fix first.

Heres my update

Ive taken it in 3 times now, theyve had the truck for a total of 3 weeks. First dealer visit had my truck for four days, no phone call updates nothing, finally say its ready and say the sound was my happy jack camper brackets. I told them you had my truck for four days to tell me that. I told them I just installed them which i did. So they had the head service guy drive around the block with me. As soon as I open the door im greeted with grease on my driver and passenger seat. We drive around the block and the tech instantly heard the sound in the passenger side c pillar. So they ask to bring it back when a loaner is available. So I came back and dropped it off again. A week goes by no calls nothing. Go in ask about the truck they say the guy handling it is off, and they cant find my paperwork or the status of my truck. They said they would call back later that day with an update, nothing,. no call. Two days later I call they say the truck will be ready. I go in ad they say no it was a loose connector under the seat. I ask to see it, and they show me the connector. I explain to them I unhooked that connector and its not it. Also the c pillar panel has grease prints all over it. So the original head tech says lets go for another drive hears the sound instantly, says something isnt right and asks to keep the truck longer. Its been another week no. No calls, nothing. I call in and they said the ordered a new seat belt. So well see if this fixes it. But its getting old. I want to install my Thuren kit and do wheels and tires , but worried theyll blame that next. Its nice having the warranty but at the same time its like pulling teeth. The dealer tries to get out everything. I dont even want to bring up issues, because its a headache and it shouldnt be. I paid for the warranty. Spending $50k on a brand new truck, thinking itd be problem free, but instead its sitting at the dealership. At this point I feel like I shouldve bought the Ford.

I'm not exactly sure where your noise is coming from but it sounds familiar to a noise I heard after purchasing the truck and driving it home. I kept thinking there wasn't a noise when I test drove it twice so what happened. low and behold it wound up being the passengers seatbelt buckle next to the center console. When the trucks hit a bump or jog it would bang against the plastic center console base. I wrapped it with a clothe and the noise disappeared. I realized I had a passenger during all my test drives which is why I never heard it. Sometimes its just something simple. That noise was heard at 80 miles on the odometer and I now have over 800 and no cabin noise.

Thanks for the feed back, def not that ive plugged in all the seat belts and still get the noise. Speed bumps, driveways dont make the sound. When i go over manholes valve lids pot holes anything thats uneven and a quick jar is when it happens. And fire road i drove on it was constant. 4 weeks theyve had it now and not one phone call. I have to call them and no ones ever available so they say theyll have someone call back but no one ever does. Its becoming a joke and its pretty sad. Hopefully its fixed when I get it back. Im not sure what my options are after this, call the GM or what?

That's a tactic to wear you down. I had a Chevy dealer pull that, except they made the error of so many lies and fabrications that I had documented and could prove that it only served to grease the skids for a successful Lemon Law suit.

Think I found at least some of the rattle. The top of the rear seatbelts where it attaches to the body flap around quite a bit. Buckled them and was better. Even buckled they still rattled though. Stuffed some foam in there and that was even better. There is still something else but that was most of it.

That's the sound I mentioned in my post.
