Looks good, they really deserve a 35" right from the factory IMO, the OEM 32" Duratracs look so small in the wheel well.

Looks awesome. I am curious to know what you did with the spare. That is how I landed here. I don't think a 35x12.5 will fit in the spare area and I don't LOVE the idea of a tire carrier for daily driving.

It doesn't fit. Upgrading my bumpers to take care of the spare in the bed problem. Stay tuned

Fits great on mine, there's apparently some variation in the heat shield area on various PWs...

That's very odd! But actually gives me hope that there are parts I can buy :)

Is there any chance you can take some pictures of your heat shield and other areas and post them? Not sure what variation I have at this point and I'd like to know before heading to the tire store. Thanks!

I just read that thread. I think the track bar will get caught up while offroading on the tire with the way the rear axel articulates.

Also I just put 35x12.5 BFG KO2s on and they do fit in the spare spot but you have to deflate the tire. No issue for me because I have a compressor.

Love it man! I had the rigd mega fit on my 1500 but that bumper is much better than a hitch mount one.

EDIT: In a one-year review of his Power Wagon, a guy was able to fit a 35-inch Falken Wildpeak AT (35x12.5x17) in the spare location by deflating it. Go to 9:30 in the video to see the spare tire info:
NOTE: In my earlier post, I mistakenly attributed this to Brad from Trail Recon - I apologize for getting the two videos confused.

As you probably all know, not all 35s are the same size; here are some popular ones with specs from: https://tiresize.com/
Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.8 by 12.5
BFG KO2 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.5 by 12.5
BFG KM3 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 35.0 by 12.5
Cooper ST MAXX 315/70R17 is listed as 34.6 by 12.8
Nitto Ridge Grappler 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.8 by 12.5
Nitto Trail Grappler MT 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.8 by 13.2
Toyo Open Country MT 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.8 by 13.2

According to this site, the Falken Wildpeak AT is a tiny bit taller than the BFG KO2, and the owner in the video fit the Falken in the spare location deflated. That suggests that the KO2 would fit, but I wouldn't trust these measurements 100% - so try fitting a tire before buying five of them!

Just curious, but what's the reason why they put such a small tire on the PW? It's smaller than the tire I'm getting on my 2500 Longhorn with the offroad and snow chief packages. I would have figured that the Tremor package that Ford put out with 35" tires would make them rethink their choice.

Well of course I don't really know but my conspiracy theory is they did it because a 33" tire is the only thing that would fit within spec in the spare location. Easier to put a smaller tire on the whole truck than to say they either don't have a full size spare or do something different than they do on the whole platform. Just my guess :)

Brad from Trail Recon posted a video yesterday (Nov 30, 2020) introducing his new Power Wagon. He said he was able to fit a 35-inch BFG KO2 in the spare location by deflating it. As you probably all know, not all 35s are the same size; here are some popular ones:
BFG KO2 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.5 by 12.5

Cooper ST MAXX 315/70R17 is listed as 34.6 by 12.8
Nitto Ridge Grappler 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.8 by 12.5
Nitto Trail Grappler MT 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.8 by 13.2
Toyo Open Country MT 35 x 12.5 x 17 is listed as 34.8 by 13.2
Also you can watch that video at 7:17 you can still see the duratrac up there. I was asking him on instagram and he said he hadn't put the 35" KO2 up there yet so I don't know. Maybe I missed it in the video.

I can confirm though that if you deflate the 35x12.5R17 KO2 it does fit in the spare spot for a 2020 PW.

My bad! I watched a couple of videos and got Brad's confused with a one-year review of the Power Wagon in which the owner fit a 35 in the spare location deflated. Here is the link, go to 9:30 in the video:

No biggie, only reason I had pointed it out is because I have also read there is a difference in the heat shield on the muffler with some of the power wagons so sometimes it doesn't fit... I can't confirm that one or not though. I bet TrailRecon is going to go with the swingout bumper or something though.

I had a Rigd on my 1500 and while I liked it while overlanding and such it was a pain in the ass for daily driving and just fitting in places. I can imagine that would only be worse on the power wagon, so it was super important to me that I have a full size spare up under there!

I didn't know that the heat shields can vary from year to year, so that's good info.

Yeah - I'm the same when it comes to mounting a spare. I decided I didn't want to get an aftermarket bumper and tire carrier for my Tacoma, which left me limited to a 32-inch tire (largest that fits in the spare location, at least with the KO2). I'm shopping Power Wagons right now and would go to 35s if the spare fits. I'm definitely not carrying a spare in the bed, and I don't really want to go with a new rear bumper and a tire carrier - even though I think that is the best option for off-roading. The downside to 35s, of course, is that they only get the rear diff another inch off the ground - and that rear diff is huge!

Ohh it's massive I got nothing for that :)

I can confirm for sure a 35" KO2 fits attached are some pictures of how tight it is and the heatshield so maybe that helps you. It is VERY close to the trailer hitch mount but I think the fact it's deflated won't be to big of an issue.

Bonus pictures of my truck cause it's hard not to. Just need black lug nuts now and I am done with wheels and tires :)

Remember some 35’s are bigger than others. BFG KO2 generally run a bit small compared to say a Toyo MT or NItto. cooper ST Maxx's run a bit small as well. I have had KO2, Toyo, and Cooper all in 35's.

Yeah good point. I’m not sure about half inch would fit it’s pretty tight. But good thing I love KO2s!

Yup. I posted the actual size of a half dozen popular 35s a few posts back, with a link to a site that provides actual measurements. Thanks!
