Tenneco/Case was the official distributor for the Mercedes Unimog in the late1970s-early 1980s. The trucks were sold at Case equipment dealers. They used Case backhoes and some other Case attachments. Mercedes called the truck the U900 or 406, Case called the same truck the MB 4/94. Here is a photo of the Case booth at ConExpo in Houston 1981 with trucks with various attachments.Conexpo.JPG

Well slap me silly. Thx for the info. Must have been a US initiative as I have never seen anything like it up North.

The white one is sweeeett! Where do you take it offroad that it fits…especially with the tall tent?
It is about the same overall length as a Tacoma. we have taken it to Baja, Alaska, British Columbia. We could sleep our family of 5 in the tents when our kids were teenagers. The truck is local to northern Colorado, so we go on many trails here. We also go down to the San Juans in the summer and do Poughkeepsie Gulch, Black Bear and Imogene Passes. It is smaller than you would think and sizewise, and will fit on any trail our JK Unlimited will go but the tent covers do get a little beat up by tree branches. We have had to have them repaired. We made a spoiler/deflector to direct some of the branches over the tents.
