Not me, but I thought it was too cool not to share. Never seen a 1ton towing a tractor before. Saw this driving home yesterday.

7x14 enclosed carries my SxS and a couple of quads. We'll be doing my first big road trip in December. Going out west to ride some dunes. I'm excited to see how it does compared to my old Titan that it replaced. The trailer will weigh somewhere around 6000# loaded and the truck will have four passengers in the cab and three pups in the bed. Should be easy work.

I came from a Nissan Titan as well. This truck definitely pulls much better all around.

Yeah in the smalls trip that I have taken I can feel that it's more stable with the load and it doesn't feel like it gets pushed around at all. The 8spd makes a world of difference towing it around as well. My Titan had many upgrades and made easy work of it but it's a different ball game with the 2500. Very pleased.

@phrogman I also tow around a 7x14 Enclosed V nose almost identical to yours that we use to haul dirt bikes around every weekend. I have a 2500 with the Cummins and from a power perspective the truck does not care, tows great and averages 13-14 mpg on the highway. From a handling perspective the truck rides extremely smooth, it rides better with the trailer behind it then it does empty. For what its worth I came from a F-150 and while the Ford had plenty of power the bigger chassis on the Ram is more stable and smoother in general. While I'm certain any 1/2 ton can handle what I currently tow I guarantee they wont do it as easily. You will not be disappointed on your trip with your trucks performance .

The Alliance folks have been great, just had a few issues and they resolved them quickly. We had looked at the 390MP before deciding on the 385FL, but thought the bunk room was not as useful for us as our kids are all grown now. Payload was a concern, truck rated payload is just over 3,900#. Weighed at a Love's and it looks like fully loaded with passengers, pets and gear we are sitting at 3,758#. The large storage bay in the rear of the 385FL has allowed me to put heavier items (Ebikes, grill, etc.) behind trailer axle and remove some weight from the hitch. It was also a reason I went with the GenY hitch instead of a fifth wheel. If we need to boondock and fill our fresh tank up, somethings going to have to go, if it's a very long drive.

Well my previous post was with a 2022 3500 HO SRW but now traded for a 2022 3500 HO DRW mainly for payload and stability reasons. Even though the RV marketing says 3,400lbs pin weight, it is actually close to 3,900lbs pin. Also with only golf cart in garage (loaded with food and clothing for week long family vacation) and nothing in grey and black tanks and fresh tank only 1/4 full…we are at 13,800lbs GVW on the dually. Also at or slightly over 17,000lbs camper weight with 13,600lbs on the (2) axles. The stability between DRW and SRW is night and day. I did not want the DRW, I loved the SRW for its my daily driver, but logic dedicated the DRW for the camper. I have attached photo of weight ticket for the RV loaded for our weekly long trip. Also the DRW and the SRW truck mentioned.

Damn that’s a heavy combo. Do you need a CDL or class B?

You are under all weight limits with room to spare. I also had a 2500 SRW while waiting for the 3500 DRW. Actually the 2500 was way over weight but pulled the Raptor just fine. The 3500 DRW is so nice, big difference. I do use it for daily driving, not a big deal here. I am interested in getting it weighed when loaded just to know how much water I can haul.

Rare but depends on the state. It is much lighter than the huge diesel pushers anybody can drive with a class C. I went to the DMV here in WY b/c I saw that over a certain weight a special endorsement was necessary. I was told to forget it, they are not required anymore and it was not being enforced anyway.

Can’t comment on his state but a regular driver license (class C) in Ga reads:

Class C (Non-Commercial and Commercial) - Any single vehicle with a GVWR not in excess of 26,000 pounds; or any such vehicle towing a vehicle with a GVWR, not in excess of 10,000 pounds; or any such vehicle towing a vehicle with a GVWR in excess of 10,000 pounds, provided that the combination of vehicles has a gross combined vehicle weight rating, not in excess of 26,000 pounds, and any self-propelled or towed vehicle that is equipped to serve as temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, or travel purposes and is used solely as a family or personal conveyance. Includes three-wheeled vehicles using a steering wheel.

Exactly, that would include all 40’ diesel pushers and almost all toy hauler RVs. Been driving one or the other for 25 years without issue despite trying to get the endorsement. On the other hand requiring people who just want to go camping to have the same endorsement as a long haul trucker seems like overreach. In any case the RV industry is treated differently than professional drivers. If RV is being pulled for hire by a commercial vehicle and labeled as such, a different set of rules apply. I am not saying either is right just the way it is.
