I was towing this with a Lincoln Navigator. It proved a very capable TV. The Lincoln was totaled this summer (no one was hurt thank goodness). We were thinking of getting another SUV, but the costs were nearly $15K more than a truck. We decided to get a 2500 so that it will tow our "next" camper. Whatever and whenever that may be.

Hooked up the 32' GN to help break in the truck with the easy towing....super glad I did the 4.10's...there will be two Jeep's on it when its fully loaded...this setup right here with only me in the truck weighed 17630...the jeeps weigh roughly 5500 each....

20 ft intech aluminum trailer, about 5000lbs loaded
Really nice setup with cabinets, winch, lights, battery- electric 12V and 120V, sleeps 2
Equipped with dometic CFX55, Honda i2200, tv projector, 1500W heater, coffee maker, etc.
Pulls good at 65mph 12-14mpg. I think our Cummins has done more miles w/ trailer than w/o.

I really love the 22' Iron Bull. I had a locally made 24' that was a complete POS... this thing is beast mode! It's such an over built trailer, I can't explain what it's like without showing.

The only thing I'm sad and mad about is that 22' is just too short for so many things. My tractor you see.... the backhoe teeth are all that are touching. I really need to sell it and get a 26', I think 4 more feet would be an overall much better trailer.

Go 26' gooseneck. You'll be glad you did. I have multiple trailers depending on what I'm towing and it seems like the GN is the easiest to maneuver and back into places.

And if I go 26' I'll likely feel later that I should have went 30.... so maybe go straight to 30 feet with 2 x 8K axles? I'm at that point with my 14K gross trailers where my tractor and skid steer are both a bit over 10K lbs and the trailers are nearing 4k.... so going to a 16K gross would give me a bit of head space on my weights. But I would be at 30k combined and really would have to start looking at getting legal with licensing. So far I just wing it with my 14K gross truck and I had my 14K gross trailers titled and frames marked as 9,995 gross. I know that they are 14k builds and use them as such, but I stay away from the 14k titled trailers so that I could only be fined for being over the trailer rated 10k.

I think to go over 13K you'd need dual tandem axles?

We have an older BigTex brand 32' dual tandem. It's very well built but overkill for 90% of the hauling we do. We use it primarily to haul hay and feed and use the 26' to haul our tractors or jeeps or SXS's.

Another thing to consider when going to dual-tandem is you have to go deckover. I prefer the "low boy" style trailer as it seems easier to load/unload stuff on.

Have any of you with a 3500 SRW 4X4 ,that tows a 5th wheel, had any clearance issues between the bed and underside of 5th wheel?

I haven’t had any issues at all.
