Here is an interesting one. I hooked up to this one in Goshen, IN and when I went to install my equalizer hitch I found an electrical box mounted to the frame where the saddle needed to go so I can’t install any weight distribution or sway control. The trailer is 35’ 11” long with a gvwr of 8500 pounds (I believe around 7,000 actual weight), the truck sits surprisingly level considering there is no weight distribution. It is going to Fort Pierce Florida so about 1250 miles. I figured it would be a horrible trip down with it just sitting on a ball with no bars or chains but I’ve got to be honest, I really can’t tell much of a difference than a trailer with my equalizer hitch. There has been a couple times crossing the mountains around Gatlinburg where a gust would come up and I had to tap the trailer brakes to settle it back down but other than that it’s been a fine trip. I’m spending the night just below Macon Ga tonight and will have this one delivered tomorrow a little after noon if all continues to go well.

Looks like the RV manufacturer had that thought out really well. LOL

I have never really used a wd hitch other than on a 1/2 ton as they usually cant take tongue weight like the 3/4 and 1 tons can thats all a wd hitch is for sway control is from an anti sway bar

Today I started my morning at 4:00am from Plymouth, MN to Sturgeon Bay WI. Spent the day there at the new house that’s getting built and drove back home, just got home at 11:35pm roughly 750miles and spent 6 or so hours there.... I was pulling my featherlight 26 v-nose hauling all of the corbel brackets and other exterior accessories a couple new grills to be built in and some gym equipment.... glad to be home safe but dang I can never get good mileage .... not even pushing it

I saw a semi on 94 this evening with 2 reckers trying to pull it out of the ditch and a few crazy spin outs. On the way over this morning the roads were very slick....

Glad to be home safe !!!

Wow, that's a long day.

FWIW, I grew up in Green Bay and still have most of the family in the area and a few still up in Sturgeon Bay. One weird cousin still lives up there and works in the trades. Haven't been there in a few years.

Finally pulled the 7,600 GVWR TT out. Averaged 10.2mpg doing 65 the whole time. Truck was amazing. Pretty much drives itself on adaptive cruise. 10k E2 WDH. No sway from big rigs, no drama at all.

Only hang up is the 31gal tank giving about 270mi range. Id like to do the OEM or Titan 50gal tank and maybe even a 50gal transfer in the bed if we plan to really reach out and touch places. I don't want to be stuck having to get watery fuel at a Mom & Pop station especially with an asym CP4 just wishin' a mofo would.

Power convex mirrors are the shizz. Used the trailer mirror cams less than I would have thought probably because I'm old school CDL and watch the mirrors more than anything. The cams don't stay on long enough to matter in turning situations at speed. One day I'll mod the UConnect to have them stay on.

Truck seemed to get the same mpg at 65 in 5th or 6th, surprisingly almost 1mpg better in 5th says the meter. I didn't feel like hanging the engine out at 2k+ plus though, that's the kind of crap I wanted to avoid with a gasser! So I mostly had it in 6th at 1500-1600rpm unless there was a hill to deal with or it got close to 1200rpm (which I thought might be lugging) or something. Cummins didn't really care. Torque was so flat only the RPM would change between them at that speed. All the power in the world was there to go plaid.

Peak torque is @2K so that's probably where you'll see the best mileage.

I thought it was 1,600 on the SO? Even so I would figure at max grunt it would be drinking the most fuel with the gear driven pump style but suppose that is load dependent. I guess 400 RPM isn't a lot it just seems that way since the range is so narrow compared to a gasser. My buddy pulled his heavier (12k) hauler with a similar new 2020 on that trip and got the same mileage. Cummins doesn't care if it's hauling a potato or an excavator, it's getting 10mpg :p

Oh, sorry, got HO brain.

Even then I misstated it. it's @1,800 HO. I think 1700 for SO.

Peak HP for both is at 2,800.

Nice looking set up! What campground is that at? I'm in Tucson and looks like my neck of the woods.
