Cold air intake systems

I don’t understand how anything can give you 3 or more mpg. They put that horrible mds system in the truck to get that. Why would they not change the intake at the factory?
How dare you use logic here! Lol. You are right the claims are just laughable.

I have had AFE CAI on my last 2021 6.4 gas Ram 3500 and last year installed a
S & B on my 2023 Ram 6.7. The AFE cai made no difference at all other than seeing more dirt inside the tube when I cleaned it and after 30 days with the
S &B on my 6.7, I changed it back to stock and sold on Facebook market place after problems and seeing again dirt inside the tube, more wear on the turbo fins and problems with codes, it’s your money and truck spend it how you want but I would advise just leave it stock. I failed to listen to the knowledgeable members on this forum and just ended up losing money. They were right, it’s not worth it.

Stock air box flows a lot more than the engine is capable of using on a stock tune.

And I say that because the air going in to the engine is metered and controlled via the electronic throttle body.

Even with tuning the stock air box is more than enough. The only thing aftermarket intakes do is provide more intake noise.
