There’s a flaw in the design that causes a percentage to not work correctly??? I have never seen temperatures under 52 out of my vent. That said, I really haven’t looked lately since the temperatures have been in the 60s and 70s here. I don’t drive my truck much lately either, the Cab rattle drives me nuts and makes driving it unpleasant. Still anxiously awaiting an update on these matters.
That sucks that you have to deal with this crap.

When trying to use the HVAC in what used to be labeled "VENT", I also have found that with the compressor off, and temp set to "LO", the air coming out is generally about 15 degrees warmer than the outside air, and this would be early AM before the sun is up. Clearly, the A/C is having to fight the heater.

No wonder my truck struggled to cool when it was 95 degrees outside. I did a check today while driving on the interstate. I had been on the road for over an hour so everything was up to temperature. You can see the outside air temperature was only 65^ and the AC was manually set to Lo. Conditions that should be easy to cool and the AC could only muster as low as just about 56 degrees.

I agree with 99ls1tj that it's likely related to manufacturing. Keep in mind that not all vehicles are produced in the same factories. The primary reason why I say design flaw is because FCA corporate told the techs at my local dealership (at least that's what they told me) that it is normal for the vehicle vent to warm the air over 20 degrees as it moves from outside and through the vent. You don't have to have a degree in engineering to realize that's absurd. So it's either a design flaw or misleading/incompetent technicians working on my car. Personally I think it has something to do with the flap/regulator that directs the air or it's a sensor issue but after 3 weeks at the shop the Supervisor closed it out and said it's "normal"....hence the law suit. I can buy a $15 Kia that has a better HVAC.

I haven't measured mine. It definitely isn't super cold but it seemed to keep us comfortable in 100+ degree heat we had in SoCal last week. After reading threads on various forums I was expecting to have to do a mod to achieve comfort. I don't think I will have to unless it gets worse.

Ditto for me. It isn't super cold, but that is actually a good thing in my opinion; as I don't necessarily think that super cold air in my face is so great! The important thing is that it has managed to keep the cabin cool without the fan blowing on max all the time. And this is important, since, as @Brewbud points out, Autumn in SoCal can still be 100F.

My new 2020 3500 Tradesman, single zone AC, produces colder air when the fan is -1 from max.

This is EXACTLY what I am experiencing on my 2015 Crew Cab 2500. Vent temps never get very cold with max AC selected. Also, when it is cool outside and AC is OFF, the vent temps are still much warmer than the outside air temps (they should be close to the same). This tells me the blend doors are allowing air to flow through the heater core when it should be bypassing it (when you select cold air). I don't think this is ONLY a 4.5 generation issue since my 2015 is technically a 4th generation, I don't think there is much if any difference in the HVAC system. I'm really interested to hear what Ramcare says is their intended fix for this.

How will we know when we can have something done?

For me the jury is still out. If the fix requires removing the dash, which some have said, I'm declining. I have the ball valve in my heater hose and it works fine when needed. My A/C works great with the ball valve closed, up through 95 degree temps. Over 95 degrees the fan is always on high until I close the ball valve, then it's a lower fan and 42-45 degrees cold air.
Your ball valve . Is it the hose on top of the valve cover on the 6.7? kinda hard to get to? any pictures?

I'm assuming you have a 2020 Cummins

I don't have any pics of mine. Here are two pics from another forum member. One shows the hose clamped and the other shows the 5/8" ball valve installed.

Just for your record (RamCares). When I took my new truck in for a frontend alignment with only less than 1000 miles on it I mentioned to the service desk person that I thought my A/C was not blowing optimum cold she replied if it's blowing cooler than 15 degrees than outside temperature that it was within factory specifications, nothing to look at.

That's been the problem all along... if it is within 'spec' the dealer isn't going to do anything about it... which is why folks here have been pushing @RamCares to get this elevated and resolved.
It appears that they have done just that... now we wait to see what the expected fix will be...

Close enough! Thanks very much for the pictures. I am not the most computer savvy person. I clamped the wrong hose then from the pics you sent me

I agree I finally had a dealers that actually looked into the problem.. I was told that it was low on refrigerant on a 2019 2500 diesel with 4,000 miles on it. I told the service dude that that means there must be a leak Then. After leaving the dealer it did blow colder but have to run it on low all the time and I swear the fan is slow to respond and is acting strange.. Ram Cares has told me a few times to get a second opinion and to DM them if I needed further assistance. I did and they have been no help at all.
I got the same issue with my trucks AC it is very frustrating to pay so much money for a truck and get no help from the dealer!
