Is anyone adjusting their speedometer with the 255/80/17’s or just leaving it as is? Looks to be about 2-4 miles per hour off.
Under 40, mine is dead on, above 40, only 2mph off, not enough to worry about

I used Alpha obd to adjust mine. Took a few tries to get it to work though.

Got a new tire size for the stock wheels boys. Kenda Klever in 35x10.5r17. I think they look amazing!

I added these along with a Carli 2.5" level, some 2" rear blocks and airbag spacers, and Bilstein 5160 reservoir shocks up front with 5100s in the rear.

Completely transformed the truck. LOVE IT.

Here they are with no rear spacer.

I didn't like it so I added a .25" spacer and now im comfortable with it.

I’m super curious what setup you have. Im wanting to go 35s. It looks like you have the klever R/T series. When I look online I can only find 35/10.5/17 in the mud tires OR a 8 ply D rated tire. Can you help me understand? If there’s a way to get 10.5 wife E rated 35s I’m all in. Maybe send a closer image to the size and tire rating?

Nice looking truck! It is amazing how much leveling/lifting and larger tires transforms the looks of these trucks…they end up looking like completely different trucks…

Im seeing the same thing, @gimmie11s curious if you have any concerns running only an 8ply load range D? I was looking at the Venom Power Terra Hunter X/T that is a load E 10ply with a 50k mile warranty on priority tire also less expensive.. they seem to have good reviews.. ill just be running it on my spare so im not super concerned..

Hey guys... Yes they are load range D, however each tire is rated at 3195 lbs which is the same or higher than their E rated tire in 33 and 35x12.50. Also, the 3195 rating is higher than the factory E rated 235/85's that I took off.

Long story short, absolutely no concerns. My 5'er is 14k lbs loaded down so in my application it's more than safe.

Thanks! I agree, it totally transformed the truck.

On the DRW's its even worse because they come out of the factory with 31.8" tires.... it's terrible!

I should add my mph was now off by about 5-6 mph at 75 mph.

I added the Edge EZX which is a neat device the 19+ guys can use to correct tire size, recall your exhaust brake setting, set up a turbo timer, adjust throttle sensitivity (think Banks pedal monster) ---- It is also a mild tuning device that can add 60 hp and 130tq. The power levels are adjustable on the fly with your steering wheel cruise control buttons.

I've been seeing people in the FB group (HD Rams 4.5 Gen) put 315/70/17 and 35/12.5r/17 tires on the factory wheels w/ 2" spacers. 315 seems like a pretty big jump from 285 that most have done here. Thoughts?

315/70 is a metric 35.... 34.4 to be exact. IMO a 35" tall tire looks great, hence the direction I went.

However, 12.5" wide tires do not look good on the rear of a dually in my not so humble opinion. Once you add a 2" spacer and they start sticking out past the dually fender line, I think it looks terrible. Not to mention the bulge you'd have with the stock 6" wide wheels vs. a 12.5" wide tire.

To each their own!

Yea the protrusion of the rear wheel well is my only hang up. Might see about a 285/295 70 17 and see how they look vs 315.

How tall of a tire are you wanting?

After reading this thread, I went with 255/80-R17 Nitto Recon Grapplers on my 2022 3500 DRW. I’m satisfied with the gap between the rear tires without a load (this is at 65 PSI). When I get my RV hooked up, I’ll let y’all know if there are any issues.

Thats a perfect looking setup! Could you possibly post a picture looking down the back of it? My truck has the paint-matched fender flares also and curious if those tires are even with them? I don't like how the factory are tucked back a little bit.

Here’s a shot that may not be exactly what you are looking for, but was already in my photo library. They aren’t quite even with the fender flares, but there are about an inch closer.

255/80/17 or 255/85/17 (with very limited choices)

A thin spacer is NOTHING. It requires no modifications. You wouldn't think twice about installing a centering ring that comes with your wheels? I see them just the same as a no-brainer. They are cheap and easy to install.

Not sure why it wouldn't be a good idea for pulling the mentioned weight if tires are rated for the load. The 255/80 tires do lower your final drive ratio from 4.10 to 3.93 (3.82 with 255/85). But a stock 3.73 HO is rated 32K anyway.
I know this is old but my 3.73 is 34,070lbs towing. What would mine drop to with either the 255/80 or the 255/85?

I just installed some 255/80R17 Falken WILDPEAK A/T3W's. They fit without a spacer but I only have about 1/4" space between the lug areas of the side tread.

I picked up some 1/4" spacers but don't really feel good about installing with the short studs.

I am also not a fan of the bolt on spacers.

I did find these the other day but the price is crazy. https://www.wheeladapter.com/product/dodge-ram-19-and-newer-8x200-in-between-dually-wheel-spacers
Looks good. I’d throw on rhe 1/4” spacer and call it a day.
