Mine is not as good as the F150 I traded, nor my previous rams, nor my wife's durango... but, it's adequate and I have gotten used to it in the Florida heat. My "fix" will ultimately cost me some money, but, I love the truck, so, it's worth it.
Basically... morning is fine, shade is fine, afternoon with no rain is bad... So, I use the SXM Guardian/UConnect App to start the truck before I leave my office. It takes me maybe 4 minutes to get from my chair in the office to the driver's seat of the truck. By that time, the air is blowing cold even though the truck is still blazing hot. I put the windows down for a minute or 2 to at least get it down to to the 95 or so degrees it is outside, then the air cools it pretty well. I also will sometimes close the passenger vent that I can reach to push more air to me when I first crank up in the afternoon.
With the family, remote start is your friend. I haven't noticed it much on the weekends, I guess I am not starting a trip in the heat of the day most times then. Once it's cooled down it does fine. I don't notice any issues with it keeping up, it's just the time it takes to go from 110 in the truck down to comfortable.
