Then, I would get it to a dealer to see what they can check, because I believe they blow cold, if they don't something needs to be fixed.. Happened on my wife's 2017 Pacifica, and they recharged the system, and then it blew super cold air. Heading to go buy a laser Infrared Thermometer to test it.

What settings?
Put it on LO just like he did on GMC. However make sure your pointing it pass the vents to hit the air. If you put laser on Dark plastic pieces it spiked up to 52 but on the spaces between where air is blowing that’s where it was getting colder.
I also believe on our HD Rams it gets cooler as your driving to get some air to engine. I will try tomorrow after a 15-20 min drive. Don’t know if he did that in his YouTube video Lowest I saw was 42.4.

The temp of the ram was done after a 20 minute hwy drive. 10 minutes was 65-70mph

I have an appt with my dealer on Friday. They agreed to check and see if anything was wrong. I'll PM you the specifics.

I think they are skeptical about it being an issue. They led with "well you know it's hot outside..." I said, " yes, I know. That's why I want the AC in my $70k truck to function properly."

we'll see how it goes.

Mine was hitting 41 today after a 10 min drive. Auto mode, low temp. Outside temp was 85ish.

@RamCares, I performed an A/C Performance test per the service manual using a Mahle ACX1180C R-134A Recovery, Recycle, Recharge machine and the low pressure side was slightly lower than specified(23psi), and the high pressure side was low (175psi) vs the specified expected pressure at the humidity corrected ambient temperature of 80F. The duct outlet temperatures were 2-5 degrees above the expected temperatures.

With those results, for anyone that is certified to work on A/C systems, and the service manual, this indicates; a low refrigerant charge, restricted refrigerant flow to the evaporator, or a faulty compressor.

I just got the truck back from the dealer. They said using the temp gun they got it to show 37. That's better than anything I've seen on mine. I wasn't in a place to actually see it myself. I am not saying I don't believe them, it just seems strange that I couldn't get within 20 degrees of that when I tried it.

On my 2015 driving east in the morning or west in the evening I have to keep it on high. Driving west in the morning or east in the evening I can keep it on low speed.

Driving north and south depends on the trees and how high on the hill I am.

There is definitely an issue, but i do have to laugh when i see someone comparing a crew cab to their car...that is a big cab to cool off.

I find for me that i turn the ac to high with the windows down drive for 5 minutes and I am plenty cool. But, I live in PA, wait five minutes and the weather changes...sometimes the whole perception of the current season.

yeah, just to be clear about the comparison, it's comparing the temp coming out of the vents, not ambient cab temps. I. know, especially with mega cab, it takes a lot more to cool the cab in the truck. It would just be easier to do that if my temp blew as cold out of the vents as basically any other vehicle I tested.

I realize that, was just flapping my gums. It is very interesting how most say their 4th Gen cooled fine and now the 4.5 HD and 5th 1500 do not.

I do know they changed the type of refrigerant, but haven't noticed that being claimed as the issue.

I posted this in another topic but I have a 3500 DRW Limited and same issues. My 2016 version of the same truck is sitting next to the 2019 and the 2019 blows 15-20 degrees warmer. Same Truck, same location, different model year. I took mine to the dealer and was told it is functioning to spec. My family does not want to ride in this truck so I took it to my normal diesel mechanic. He put gauges on it and said it was fluctuating pressure with normally means air in the system. Dealer said not the case. All is fine. I get it that it is AZ and Summer but I am sad I am selling my 2016 at this point. My 2019 is sitting in the driveway unless it is in the AM or under 100 degrees outside. BTW, it works great in the shade(like inside the shop) and in the AM. I told my dealer service guy, go drive it at 2pm after sitting out and you tell my if this is acceptable. I sent a message to RAM cares...

This may be my exact issue. It obviously worked well in the morning, in the shop. I measured the temp mid day, outside, but after a 20 minute drive. Thanks for your perspective!

I put mine on Youtube as well. Great idea!

Thanks for the vid. I am not sure what I am going to do on mine. Dealer wasn't a lot of help today. Makes me hopeful that mines not the only one, but the 1500s had several issues too and it seems Ram is slow to act.
