Big electrical problem with my new 2025 3500

I am right there with you except they had my truck for 34 days! Only had 1500 miles on it. Got it back and it is now making a random scratchy noise in the dash that goes thru the speakers, I have reached out to the dealership and am nervous it will be another long slow walk out of the shop as I really don’t think they know how to get these trucks truly fixed! At this point I’m thinking buy back!
We're sorry to hear of this! Feel free to send our team a private message for an extra layer of assistance alongside the dealer.

Always prudent to skip the first year of any new model designation otherwise you end up being the test pilots. I'm sure you will get things sorted, but it does suck to have to deal with the problems/annoyances right after you sign the paperwork!

Good luck!
My 25 3500 Mega Cab has 9K on it 4K of heavy towing and not one issue. There is never the right time to buy a. New truck as every year somthing new is added .

After months of waiting and anticipation, I finally picked up my brand new 2025 Ram 3500 DRW truck on Wednesday. I had driven up from the Florida Keys where we are currently staying to New Hampshire where my dealer is located to take delivery. The next day I was driving it back down to the Keys and around the 500 mile mark I started getting a lot of warnings and errors on the dash display. ABS light, stability control light, collision sensor lights, and cruise control light came on as well as messages saying to service these items and that Four Wheel Drive is temporarily unavailable. Cruise control no longer worked either. After I stopped for fuel, the lights went off but the check engine light stayed on. I stopped for the night at a motel and the next day of driving the check engine light was still on but then I stopped at a rest stop and restarted it and then that light was off. I thought all was well until not long it did it all over again. This happened several more times on my down down to the Keys. I’m now down here and the check engine light is still on. I do have an appointment with a local dealer down here to get this looked at and hopefully corrected. I sure hope this isn’t a sign of serious problems with this truck. Not sure if it is related but also the unlocking of the door by grabbing the handle while the fob is in my pocket is hit or miss. Sometimes it works and other times the only way to unlock it is with the button on the fob. Needless to say I’m a little upset about all this.
Mine did the same after 200miles and then light turn off and then back on again. Did that 4 time and it s now at the dealer. I pluged in my own scan tool on it and get code U1412 which is a communication problem with abs module and wheel speed sensors. Now, the freaking parts are BO and no date on it. Brand new 2025 3500 Limited DRW not impress, I trade in my 2023 because I had vibration issues and they were not able to fix it and now getting problems with the 2025..... real piece of junk STELANTIS

After reading this, I thought I'd chime in about my past and currently ongoing issues. Bought my 2025 3500 DRW Limited in mid-june. Since day two I've had nothing but problems. Here's my list,

  • Flashing odometer
  • Cruise control inoperable at times but consitantly now
  • Trailer brake controller doesn't operate the trailer brakes. Trailer lights work but no brakes. this issue just happened in the last week.
  • ABS lights
  • Truck stuck in park, wouldn't come out of gear. Had to disconnect batteries and let it sit to get it to shift out of park.
  • random check engine lights
  • Traction control lights
  • Service electronic stability control
  • "service transmission continue in D. do not shift or turn engine off until you reach desired location you may not be able to shift again until serviced" message appeared.
  • 4wd inoperable lights
  • "blind spot alert unavailable service required" message
  • Dash indicator stating truck is not in park(when the truck is in park) but not showing in any gear. Wouldn't allow the truck to shut off, had to pull main wiring harness to get engine to shut down.

All of these issues have happened multiple to dozens of times in 4k miles and three months of owning it but probably the most frustrating issue has been, After shutting off the truck and exiting, light on dash saying "push to start" stays illuminated and unless I disconnect the batteries, the truck will be dead in 6 hours. This happens intermittently but probably 3-4 times a week and has been happening since the end of June. It's gotten so bad that I carry a 10mm wrench and have to disconnect and reconnect the batteries every time I go somewhere. I let it sit overnight last week without disconnecting the batteries and it took me an hour and a half to get started with another truck jumping it, a jumper pack and an 80 amp charger hooked to it.

My dealer claims it's a rear wheel speed sensor that is causing all of these issues and they've had one on order for two months and still have no ship date. I finally got fed up as my service writer won't return my calls and went in to talk to them yesterday. Their response was, there's nothing we can do, and we won't get you a comparable loaner (I pull 20-30k pounds regularly) here's the number for ram cares, ask them to buy it back.....

What a joke! I don't want ram to buy back the truck, I want my dealer to care enough to make an effort to fix the issues and take care of the customer who spent alot of money at their dealership. I want ram to care enough about their customers to get the parts even if it means stop building trucks and using the inventory they have on new trucks to take care of the customers who are left dealing with these problems. I have bought nothing but GM vehicles for the last ten years and was excited about the new 8 speed to make a switch. I love truck when it's working. Pulls better than my 22 3500 drw denali but when my denali had issues, GM was always quick to resovle them and would put me in a comparable loaner until it was fixed.

Every potential buyer should read these warnings and understand, these trucks have major problems and ram does not care about fixing the problems or doing right by the customer. I know people are going to say "shouldn't have bought the first year vehicle" but I can say for certanity the second year 2026 won't be any better and if this is what I can expect, I'll never buy another Ram or Stellantis product again.

Just for fun, try this and see if it helps:
- Disconnect the battery
- Remove every single fuse one at a time and replace it, making sure that it is fully seated.
- pump the brakes 5 x
- 5 + hours later, turn it all back on and see if it gets any better.

__________

If that does not work, there is an RF hub = what I think of as a canbus router that can cause trouble if there are any minor wiring issues.

I am not an expert, but similar things have "sometimes" worked on this forum and on the promaster forum.

I'm pretty confident this will be in an upcoming TSB from the ram engineers.

I purchased my news 2025 Mega Ram 3500 and within 12 hours experienced the same. It started with a warning that the traction control and ABS was not working, then the emergency brake warning was lit, then received a warning that 4X4 was not available, then check engine light and then when attempting to turn off engine I received a notice that the truck was not in park and it would not shut off. No matter what you tried it would not shut off. If you tried to put it in to gear it stayed in park and would not move. Called the dealer and they only had folks there on Saturday to do oil changes??? No one there capable of working on a diesel on Saturday. While attempting to get support the truck was running for several hours and could not be turned off. Their only guidance was to GOOGLE a YOUTUBE video to see if there was any information online. Finally, I pulled the 25 amp ECM fuse to shut it down. I then attempted to read the codes with a reader and had no codes??? I then started the truck again hoping everything had reset. No luck had to pull fuse again to shut off the engine. Sixteen hours after spending a fortune it was then towed away. Waiting for Monday to get an answer on what happened. Totally unsatisfied customer!
I have a 2025 3500 BH It has happened to me twice now within 6k miles. There is a cover by your left knee that tow truck drivers pop open with a screwdriver. You have to set the emergency brake first, and then pull the orange rip cord that disengages the drive train; engine shuts off. Reset pull cord, unhook batteries for a few minutes, reconnect batteries and it fires right up.
Mine is at the shop for the second time with this issue. If there is a 3rd time, I'm throwing the lemon law flag on the field.

Have you taken it to the dealer?

I would do a buy back before Lemon law - unless you like lawyers and have a lot of time to kill.

I picked up a 2025 Ram 3500 Larimee Mega Cab 2 weeks ago in Louisiana and on my drive to Texas that day I lost the instrument panel briefly at 98 miles and then the 14" screen went dead? Both eventually came back and then really no issues that day. Next day door does not unlock when I touch the handle, I figured maybe it was a low battery in the key fob. Anyway, the key fob opened the truck. This continued to happen for the next two weeks. This morning, I go out. My truck is stone dead. I can't even open the door. I had to pull the key out of the FOB. I have no power door locks, no power windows, the truck does nothing. It is totally dead.

Mine did this but it did nothing all at once…. It was the RF Hub and it eventually killed the batteries.

hi there, I am new to the forum, but I have a 25 ram 3500 that had the issues with the abs lights, traction control, check engine light. I even found out with these lights on when starting the truck if I didn't let the messages go thru their run before I put it in gear, the computer did not recognize what gear the trans was in so I could not turn the motor off without disconnecting the battery. since then, a dealer found a faulty wheel speed sensor and replaced and that seemed to clear things up. that was figured out about 7315 miles on the truck, I saw a dealer more than I ever wanted to. now with 8500 miles on the truck those issues have not resurfaced. I am still looking at the DEF gauge in the instrument cluster not reading right. it may look good one minute and then goes to 1/4 tank sometimes setting the limp mode message. there is a star case number #s2525000002. doesn't seem to have an answer for that yet.
