Big electrical problem with my new 2025 3500

Mine had the rear wheel speed sensors replaced Friday. Saturday I drove from CT up to ME with no incidents & shut off/started up a bunch of times. It feels fixed - but I’m still wary…

I have had this 3x on my 2025 3500. First time I noticed was after window tinting. Shop claimed all those lights (speed sensor related...Those mentioned above and park sense and no cruise) were on when they got in it. Disconnected batteries to try the old middle finger electrical salute. Didn't work. Whatever... Was near dealership so headed that way. A jaywalking moron forced me to slam on brakes and all but CEL went off. Dealership pulled codes and only one was P2509 from me disconnecting batteries. There was a TSB for that so they reflashed it. In and out in 45 minutes.

Last week hit a chug hole right before I parked and shut down truck. Restarted and Christmas tree again with speed sensor type stuff. Off then back on and CEL with all the speed sensor stuff. Drove a little bit and slammed on brakes...all lights cleared. Got home and hooked up code reader (U1412) and cleared CEL.

Yesterday was on way home, and dash lit up again. Tried several hard brake cycles. Nothing. Shutoff and restarted(CEL appeared)...2 more hard brakes. Lights stayed on. Then miraculously all lights went off with normal driving. Got home and U1412 again. Cleared it.

Have appt next week at dealer.
Above from another thread here...dealer "fixed" it about a month ago by reflashing but according to paperwork they didn't even write down the correct problem.

Anyway...happened again this morning. Tried the hard braking a few times to no avail. Used the idash to clear codes (U1412). When I restarted this afternoon, got a couple of pop ups about emergency braking, 4wd unavailable, amd park sense unavailable, but when I started driving. It all cleared.

After months of waiting and anticipation, I finally picked up my brand new 2025 Ram 3500 DRW truck on Wednesday. I had driven up from the Florida Keys where we are currently staying to New Hampshire where my dealer is located to take delivery. The next day I was driving it back down to the Keys and around the 500 mile mark I started getting a lot of warnings and errors on the dash display. ABS light, stability control light, collision sensor lights, and cruise control light came on as well as messages saying to service these items and that Four Wheel Drive is temporarily unavailable. Cruise control no longer worked either. After I stopped for fuel, the lights went off but the check engine light stayed on. I stopped for the night at a motel and the next day of driving the check engine light was still on but then I stopped at a rest stop and restarted it and then that light was off. I thought all was well until not long it did it all over again. This happened several more times on my down down to the Keys. I’m now down here and the check engine light is still on. I do have an appointment with a local dealer down here to get this looked at and hopefully corrected. I sure hope this isn’t a sign of serious problems with this truck. Not sure if it is related but also the unlocking of the door by grabbing the handle while the fob is in my pocket is hit or miss. Sometimes it works and other times the only way to unlock it is with the button on the fob. Needless to say I’m a little upset about all this.
Has your truck been working now?

I have seen 3 fixes for this issue:

bad wheel speed sensor
Bad RFHub
Computer reflashed/Updated

This is the most likely place to start. Loose wire in the canbus hub.

And re-set all of the fuses.

Unfortunately it is common for things to come loose during transportation of just about everything.

Where might I find the canbus hub?
There are no canbus hubs on the 2025’s. Completely different can architecture. The modules are daisy chained together on several different can networks that all originate at the security gateway.

So this could be a long wait - if at all - for any aftermarket options to add features/change settings.

My dealer fixed this.

Star Case #: S2523000055 pointing to replacing Wheel Speed Sensors in rear. Replacement Parts needed: 68646344AA (Right Side) and 68646345AA (Left Side).

After parts replaced, I drove from CT to Bar Harbor, ME and back (about 750 miles) with no incidents or CEL. First time ever...

Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing this. Keep us posted if anything changes. I’m going to reference your case when I get around to taking mine in.

So has anyone actually had their truck fixed? and it stayed fixed? No repeat issues?
Mine hasn’t given the error in over a month now and we are towing a 46’ 5th wheel across the country. The last time it happened was when we were in the Florida Keys and we are now in Tombstone, AZ and it has yet to throw those errors. We did however have a check engine light come on with no other messages but after a day of driving it cleared itself. There are obviously still issues that need resolved but since we are traveling I’m not sure how to get it taken care of, especially with it not really happening anymore.

My 2025 Laramie CC SRW is out now. My situation is a little different than these.

I'll start with when I first got the truck, I had a trailer brake wiring warning that would go off occasionally. They replaced the Trailer Brake Control Module but it didn't fix the issue. I searched and searched the internet and found someone on FB who had the same issue and their dealer was able to fix it after engineers came to their shop to look at the truck.. Turns out, it was the actually Trailer Brake Switch on the dash that needed replaced.

One other time at around 500mi, I started the truck and the dash stayed displaying the push button to start, and the blind spot markers on the mirrors were lit up solid... I was able to drive the truck and everything still, but there was no speed or anything since the dash said "push button to start"... I disconnected the batteries for 15mins and when I plugged everything back in and started the truck, it cleared the frozen screen, but I got all of the lights discussed in this thread... They immediately went away but the CEL stayed on. I used my I dash and cleared the code which said something about the battery terminal (Also an issue mentioned above). --This happened while they were waiting on parts to fix the Trailer Brake issue.

Those lights never came back on. I got the brake wiring fixed (1200mi mark) and my family and I pulled the camper on a 4500mi trip. The only issue I had on the trip was occasionally the adaptive cruise control error would kick on and it said see dealer. I could immedately turn it back on and it would work until it gave me the error again. I assumed that there would eventually be a software update to address this so I didn't take it to the dealer knowing that it was new and they likely didn't have a fix yet.

Now, at 7,200mi I got into my truck and went to start it and nothing happened. The screen only said push button to start and no key fob detected. It never would start after disconnecting the batteries, etc. I also noticed that the proximity sensors were not working to unlock the door because it didn't think the fob was there. I could unlock and lock and remote start the truck with the fob though... Even after remote started it still wouldn't exit the remote start mode when I pushed the button. I had to call the roadside assistance and they towed the truck to my dealer. The next day the dealer said I need two new batteries and an RF Hub replaced. The RF Hub failed and drained the batteries. Only issue is the RF Hub is no national backorder and there is no ETA for when it may be shipped... Luckily the truck isn't my daily driver because it had to be towed to my local dealer, not the one I purchased from, so they won't provide a loaner like my purchasing dealer will... It has since been a week... Has anyone had the RF Hub replaced and been good ever since? I'll update once the part comes in and I get the truck back, but that could be Christmas for all I know.....

I purchased my news 2025 Mega Ram 3500 and within 12 hours experienced the same. It started with a warning that the traction control and ABS was not working, then the emergency brake warning was lit, then received a warning that 4X4 was not available, then check engine light and then when attempting to turn off engine I received a notice that the truck was not in park and it would not shut off. No matter what you tried it would not shut off. If you tried to put it in to gear it stayed in park and would not move. Called the dealer and they only had folks there on Saturday to do oil changes??? No one there capable of working on a diesel on Saturday. While attempting to get support the truck was running for several hours and could not be turned off. Their only guidance was to GOOGLE a YOUTUBE video to see if there was any information online. Finally, I pulled the 25 amp ECM fuse to shut it down. I then attempted to read the codes with a reader and had no codes??? I then started the truck again hoping everything had reset. No luck had to pull fuse again to shut off the engine. Sixteen hours after spending a fortune it was then towed away. Waiting for Monday to get an answer on what happened. Totally unsatisfied customer!
Since my original post my truck has been back in the shop 3 times for the same issue with nothing found yet. Today I get a call that they have ordered new wheel sensors because they had read that this is a possible cause of the intermittent electrical issues. While had them on the phone I mentioned to them about the fuse issue and asked them to check. The wheel sensors are on back order and will not be here until mid August??? I the. Went and picked up my truck. Once home this afternoon I checked the fuses myself and of course found 20+ fuses and the relays not fully seated. Some of the fuses were approx. 3/16” higher than the same fuse next to it. I sincerely hope that this is the fix of these intermittent electrical issues. I keep everyone updated over the next few weeks.

My fuses were the same but I had the same issues even after seating them all.

I had a 2022 2500 and had to push the fuses down after reading about them here.. I immediately checked them on the new truck when I got it and pushed them down. All issues I’ve had have been after the fuses were seated properly.

Any additional updates? I now have this exact problem with a 2025 3500 DRW.
It started yesterday. Today, however, all of the lights are off. I have an appointment with the dealership on the 18th. Problem is that I'm planning to leave town on the 23rd, so if parts are necessary I may not be driving the truck as planned.

I brought mine into the dealership and they did a TCM proxi align saying that may fix it (though I’m not convinced). They missed a TSB related to cruise control drop out and potentially this issue (link below). I’ll be going back… the TSB involves an ECM/PCM update so I think it’s wise to have this done as well…

I just had my vehicle shut off in traffic. I was getting off the interstate and hit one of those devastating bumps the developed world is known for and got at least the following messages Emergency Braking INOP (With crash light plus info display) Electronic Stability Control INOP, 4WD not available/transfer INOP, then the engine coughed and shut down. This was after a Regen on a 2025 RAM 5500 Cummins with Torqueflite and transfer case, and then the gear position started flashing. I shifted to park after the engine shut off and the display read "Press brake to prevent rolling"
I restarted successfully, but the transmission wouldn't shift. I went to park again twice, then shut off and restarted again. Due to...reasons.... The problem vanished after a large traffic jam while turning left at an intersection.
To you guys with 3500 and under, I know the 4500 and 5500 are tuned by Cummins, but 3500 and below are tuned by Dodge RAM. That's why we are derated but can tow more. They also have a different transmission.

I have my prior suspicion and reason to believe a module briefly came unplugged, but that's pure speculation. What is Not speculation is that I am nearly certain this isn't due to a engine or transmission controller fault. I highly suspect other modules. We can't judge by the lights because - just like my VW golf - a flashing glow plug light with a stop warning is ACTUALLY the internal General Engine Management Malfunction. ALL WE CAN HOPE IS THAT IS STORES A PERSISTING CODE OR AT LEAST A TEMPORARY ONE. I think we would all agree it's time for at least one person in this thread to plus in a laptop the whole time you drive and set it not to shut off in the console and just data log 100% of the time. We need to know because if these dealers don't know they better SELL US THE PROGRAMMER SO WE CAN SOLVE IT! I AINT PLAYING WITH YALL

My truck broke on day four. I've had it a month. I have to weld a $11,000.00 bed on this. Why are you turning my brakes and engine and transmission off in traffic.

Also side note. Who said what about the RF Hub? One of the 14 codes it had was for the powered antenna

I am right there with you except they had my truck for 34 days! Only had 1500 miles on it. Got it back and it is now making a random scratchy noise in the dash that goes thru the speakers, I have reached out to the dealership and am nervous it will be another long slow walk out of the shop as I really don’t think they know how to get these trucks truly fixed! At this point I’m thinking buy back!
