Big electrical problem with my new 2025 3500

After months of waiting and anticipation, I finally picked up my brand new 2025 Ram 3500 DRW truck on Wednesday. I had driven up from the Florida Keys where we are currently staying to New Hampshire where my dealer is located to take delivery. The next day I was driving it back down to the Keys and around the 500 mile mark I started getting a lot of warnings and errors on the dash display. ABS light, stability control light, collision sensor lights, and cruise control light came on as well as messages saying to service these items and that Four Wheel Drive is temporarily unavailable. Cruise control no longer worked either. After I stopped for fuel, the lights went off but the check engine light stayed on. I stopped for the night at a motel and the next day of driving the check engine light was still on but then I stopped at a rest stop and restarted it and then that light was off. I thought all was well until not long it did it all over again. This happened several more times on my down down to the Keys. I’m now down here and the check engine light is still on. I do have an appointment with a local dealer down here to get this looked at and hopefully corrected. I sure hope this isn’t a sign of serious problems with this truck. Not sure if it is related but also the unlocking of the door by grabbing the handle while the fob is in my pocket is hit or miss. Sometimes it works and other times the only way to unlock it is with the button on the fob. Needless to say I’m a little upset about all this.

The good news is that it is most likely something simple since it is hitting multiple electrical warnings at the same time.

Loose wire or an controller that isn't quite right.

I think this has been mentioned with the ‘25’s before. I recall there being a harness or connector loose on the ABS module or something of that nature.

You can check to see if all the fuses and relays are seated. That seems to be a common issue across 4.5 gen trucks.

my 2025 did the exact same thing with the keyless FOB. After a couple days keyless entry stopped working all together and TPMS wouldn't read pressure in any tire. They replaced RF module and everything was solved.

I purchased my news 2025 Mega Ram 3500 and within 12 hours experienced the same. It started with a warning that the traction control and ABS was not working, then the emergency brake warning was lit, then received a warning that 4X4 was not available, then check engine light and then when attempting to turn off engine I received a notice that the truck was not in park and it would not shut off. No matter what you tried it would not shut off. If you tried to put it in to gear it stayed in park and would not move. Called the dealer and they only had folks there on Saturday to do oil changes??? No one there capable of working on a diesel on Saturday. While attempting to get support the truck was running for several hours and could not be turned off. Their only guidance was to GOOGLE a YOUTUBE video to see if there was any information online. Finally, I pulled the 25 amp ECM fuse to shut it down. I then attempted to read the codes with a reader and had no codes??? I then started the truck again hoping everything had reset. No luck had to pull fuse again to shut off the engine. Sixteen hours after spending a fortune it was then towed away. Waiting for Monday to get an answer on what happened. Totally unsatisfied customer!

Did you push in all the fuses? This has been a thing since they started building the 19+ trucks.

Thanks for the response. I did check fuses and every plug and connector i could get too. Hopefully get an answer tomorrow.

Well I took mine in to the dealer and all the tech did was clear the codes. They had the truck all day and that’s all he did. Of course less than 5 minutes after leaving the dealership it didn’t again! I checked all the fuses and while they all pushed in a little, that wasn’t the problem because it has done it several times after doing that. I was going to bring it back to the dealer a couple days later but now it isn’t doing it. After turning off the truck the lights go away and after several times turning it off the check engine light goes off. So it’s all off at the moment and I feel taking it back to the dealer in this state will be useless. I’m not sure what to do at this point.

Always prudent to skip the first year of any new model designation otherwise you end up being the test pilots. I'm sure you will get things sorted, but it does suck to have to deal with the problems/annoyances right after you sign the paperwork!

Good luck!

They didn’t even update the software - that’s frustrating! I haven’t had a chance to take mine in yet but fear similar treatment.

My wife’s Jeep did the same thing a few months ago. Pretty much identical warning lights you’ve described and after turning it off and restarting they would go away. I took it to the dealer and it turned out it was just a wheel speed sensor. Turns out they affect a lot of different systems on these vehicles when they go bad and only a $45 fix, parts included. Maybe that is all this is?

They updated the ECM on mine after having it there for several days. I got it back Friday and have had no additional issues. I will keep the sensor suggestion in mind if it happens again. Thanks

Same exact issues on my 2025 3500 Limited CC DRW. Dealer flashed TCM and PCM with updates. Then towed from CT to Myrtle Beach, SC and back - starting with 150 miles on it. Had it happen at least 10 times while driving. Shut off/on at Rest Stops resets the warning lamps but "Check Engine" stays on. Repeats random chimes/warning lights from 15 minutes to as long as 5.5 hours one time.

Good local Dealer found 180 codes to analyze. They still have it and searching Star Cases for solution. One case found DRW Rear Wheel Speed Sensor issues. Of course, the parts needed are on backorder.

Please let me know what you find out and I will do the same...

@WEBradshaw.
Same thing happened to me with a 5th Wheel on back trying to unhook. It's called "AutoPark" and implemented to prevent the truck from rolling back in Neutral.
After hours of trial/error, the only thing that saved me after pulling the ignition relay was eventually pulling both negative battery cables for 15 mins - which reset the computers. Then it started and behaved normally. But it happened again couple days later. It's at the dealer now. If this happens to you again, this will save you. Never travel without a 10mm wrench for the battery cables!

So has anyone actually had their truck fixed? and it stayed fixed? No repeat issues?
