2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

@tyler2you it's not just LL in October. My limited has still not arrived or been built. Dealer called the other day and said ship date eta of 3/14 but don't hold my breath. What ever that means.

My order was delivered this week. Thanks to everyone on here for the great information along the way.
Ordered 12/15
Built 1/24
Shipped by rail 1/27
At Kansas rail yard 2/3
Unloaded from rail car 2/11
Backlog waiting for trucking, took until 3/5 to get to Iowa to the dealer

Slow!!
I'm in Ontario,my wait will be 6 months this coming weekend.
Still haven't heard anything.
I’d be having a serious chat with your dealer, Six months is horrible. I’m from BC but ordered through Leduc Dodge in, AB. They’ve been awesome to deal with.

Yep, that's why we're frustrated. I think I counted 17 LLs that were built from Nov/Dec orders while the 6 unloved Oct LLs sat waiting . . .
Went through this last year with my mega, couldn’t ever make it make sense but I was in a black hole for a while. Orders placed 3-4 months after us were getting built.

Finally pulled the trigger on a 2022 Laramie 3500 4x4 DRW - let the wait game begin. Dealership quoted 16-20 weeks, but reading this forum now for 6 months, I will be hopeful!

THANKS to this group, I discovered that MD was not Maryland, but Mark Dodge in Lake Charles, LA. Who knew? I live in Lafayette (only 60 miles away) and thought I may have to fly to Maryland to get a great deal...:p

Their below invoice price was $10,127 below sticker, and way too good to pass up! And Renae was incredible to work with! Super helpful, quick, and makes it all an easy, smooth deal.

For anyone interested (or didn't realize like me), they are a high volume dealer moving 400-500 vehicle a month, and their sales staff are on salary, not commission, which helps keep the cost down! If you order from out of town or state, they will even drive the truck within 250 miles of Lake Charles (in case you fly in to Houston or New Orleans) and deliver it to you.

Mark Dodge, Lake Charles LA.

Every time I've reached out about my Longhorn, I'm been told "Check back soon". Still D1 as well, I've blown past build and ship dates, dealer has no clue when they're going to receive it. We all should've ordered Limiteds and Katzkins at this rate.

My recent response has been "Your order has been scheduled. This means all the parts have been received and it will begin the build in the next few weeks." Can't tell me when it's scheduled for, or how many a "few weeks" is, but maybe by Christmas we'll all get our Longhorns.
I wonder if Katzkin only do the leather seats for the Laramis? Combination of Leather and Vinyl.

CSX just updated the estimated arrival. was origionally the 17th now its scheduled to unload at the railyard on the 14th. hopefully the company trucking it from there moves as fast.
Wow, I hope the train wasn’t going too fast and rattled the truck loose. lol

The plot thickens for me ...... I ordered a Big Horn DRW from my local dealer, got my vin 01\27, gave me a good price, I shopped around, but not shopped MD. After being on here for the last month, reading all the posts .... I spent more time building 100 different combos. I wanted a Laramie DRW from the start and would have loved an HO, but I just couldn't make the numbers work. So I finally played with numbers on the Laramie this weekend, with all the options I could afford and absolutely had to have and a few of the things I wanted over the weekend. I came up with a package that was over my budget I set on my original order with my local dealer, decided to give ole Sandie a shot ..... daaaamn, she blew it out of the park, basically a Laramie with more than the original Big Horn was built with, for the same price .... I feel bad bombing my local dealer, but heck, I got $5,000 more truck for the same price as the BH.... what to do .. I'm 5 plus weeks into my order, with nothing happening yet ... do I bite the bullet and go with MD ... I know I have to ultimately make the decision, I'm asking for your thoughts ... Thanks!

It’s your money….don’t worry about hurt feelings…..they’ll be forgotten in a day, but you’ll be driving the truck you want for a long time!!

Your local dealer may still get your service business anyway!
Good luck!
Dave

Excluding the few straggler orders that are still wayyy behind, does it seem like the manufacturer is picking up speed with orders? I've been looking at the tracking sheet, and it seems like they're starting to get a little quicker with things. I'm not sure if the shortage is still having affects on the build process. I'm not one to be patient, so this is going to be a rough 10-12 weeks that the dealer quoted me.

lol I'm hoping that the changeover at the interchange just went faster than expected. Now my worry is that since my dealer has been dragging his feet, my parts won't be at the dealer when the truck is ready for pickup.

I am not sure what u ordered, but I was quoted 12-16 weeks. I am hoping for the 12 but in reality, I have a feeling it will be 16+ weeks. The wait is killing me already. Ordered 1-22-2022.

I ordered a 2500 4x4 Crew Cab Big Horn 6'4 box, crystal black, night edition, bed utility group, backup camera, cargo camera, 5th wheel prep, off-road package, 8.4" screen. Nothing too stellar, but the options I wanted.

There really isn't any real discernible rhyme or reason to any of it.
I believe there could be a delay that is seeming to exist at the moment for LL orders, (haven't dug into the numbers personally, but subjectively noticing a large influx in folks still with November + orders unfortunately waiting).

For me, all in, 51 days from order to delivery at the dealership. (7 weeks, 2 days)
Not a record, but def worth buying a lottery ticket. (way lucky compared to some folks out there)

Back in Oct/ Nov/ Dec the general subjective consensus was that Laramie's were taking a long time, however, the data showed otherwise.

Really, the best advice, order what you want, don't let subjective opinions on timelines dissuade you to sacrifice.
It really is a crap shot.
Get in, sit down, and enjoy the ride as best you can.

Valid points! Thanks for the insight. I realized I left out an option after ordering, but it's nothing I can't live without. The inverter for the front was left out, along with the rear defroster. Neither of those are deal breakers, so I'll still be happy with what I got.

Has anyone contacted Chat and they give you a case #? I asked a couple questions and he said he'd send me more information about my order via email and gave me a case #. Just kind of wondering if that is the norm.
