I'm Canadian and haven't heard a thing!Do you have a VON?
1,200 miles from me. Well worth the drive. Saving me several thousand $$ below the local dealer price. I will road trip back and stop at a few friends on the way back to VA. Looking forward to it!Yea, that's about 1300 miles from me. Worth the drive? lol
That's great man! Happy for you! Care to share your checklist so I can do the same when mine comes?!? lolRecap from Last Friday…
From start to finish my truck order with Mark Dodge was smooth and pleasurable. It became perfectly evident that all Mark Dodge staffed cared about was my satisfaction.
Arrived after a layover in DFW to Lake Charles along with 5 other MD customers around 11am. Ironically a record for a single flight for MD.
They had 2 vehicles waiting, so there was plenty of space for everyone. Rode in a new Grand Wagoneer, so that was cool to see. Thanks for the ride to Charles, professional, positive, and service focused.
Quick 5 minute drive to MD and all of our vehicles were on display, front and center.
The facilities were nice, fresh and clean, and the whole staff was friendly with a perceived energy to the air. The staff was all smiles and appeared to be psyched for us all.
Otis promptly greeted us and began walking us around the truck. I think we made him a little nervous yet impressed at the same time when I pulled out a clipboard with 7 pages worth of items and explained I was going to step through “my checklist”…
Things I noticed:
Here is how awesome MD is #1:
- Mark mud flaps installed on the rear DRWs. Maybe mandatory in LA, but it was a nice touch
- Truck was clean. There was a couple of spots of some grease, blue in color, but to no consequence, meaning it really was not a big deal.
- Fuse box check lead me to what a lot of folks have been saying, fuses not fully seated. I could push down on each one and it would snap in. Otis recorded me pushing them down and explaining I heard about it, he sent it to the MD mechanics who do the PDI and they said they should be snapped in. Not really knowing if it was an issue or not. They did not pull out very easily, however, so I am not sure if that is a big deal. Nonetheless we pushed all of them down snapping into place.
- Tire pressure was like at 90 all around. MD communicated before I arrived that I would want to check that and they could help get all the pressures accurately where I wanted them. (I had them set 65 front 55 rear. When I got home I noticed they looked low in the front, so got them to 75 in the front and they look good and the ride is still fine).
- 1/4 tank of fuel, and about half tank of DEF.
- All additional parts were in the back seat; upfitter wiring, digital rear view camera, etc.
Wife found a small chip in the paint on the back edge of the driver side passenger door. Small. When we showed Otis he replied, “what would you like to do? You can take it to a body shop and invoice us, we could have it sent to our shop, or we can get a paint touch up kit for you. Whatever we need to do to make this right.” Honestly, it was such a small item, I was perfectly fine with a touch up kit, should be here at the house in the next couple of days. No haggling or dirty sales tactics or anything, just a can do attitude to do whatever we felt was right. Awesome.
Here is how awesome MD is #2:
I originally ordered back in December, due to my own ignorance and the limited tooling for building and fully understanding things/ options I pieced the Towing tech group together by hand, package was not available.
Two weeks later I called Sandi and explained (as best I could from my understanding) what I had done, and what I was going for. I ended up, just to be safe, reordering, thanks to MD to allow that as the packages options changed in December making things a little screwy.
Long story long, I intended to get the trailer cameras… I did not, as there are 2 items, Surround-View-Cameras under the tow tech group b, and Trailer Surround-View-Cameras. When I communicated this was “missing” I thought Otis grabbed Aaron and we discussed.
At that moment it became more evident than ever why, aside from price, there is so much buzz around MD. Aaron went into full recon mode to fully understand what and how there may have been a mix up. We looked at my POC, my equipment list and finally window sticker piecing things together. Aaron went back and discussed with his mechanics and validated that I have the module for that feature, discovered where the mix up most possibly happened, and even brought a diff window sticker to help explain the confusion.
In the end, Aaron choose to eat the cost on his side, ($995), without debate. His statement, “we will do whatever it takes for your satisfaction.” wow!
I haven’t had customer service like that ever before in the dozen vehicle purchases we have made over the years, let alone in any customer service situation. Ever! Absolutely amazing people! Amazing, honest, and truly sincere. The folks at MD really care about what they do, and are very passionate about customer service.
From the order process with Sandi, to communications from Aaron once the truck landed, to finance with Marsh, the transport orchestration and comms with Charles, to Otis and the official handoff the entire experience was smooth, with clear communication and flat out pleasurable.
Psyched in the new ride!
So far, installed Duraflaps, Truxedo X15 tonneau, did the more rugged Mopar floor mats.
This week, exterior detail (paint sealant/ wax) and front windows tinted
429 miles and the diesel drives great.
Way smoother than I expects, but keep in mind, it is still a solid axle HD diesel.
Took about 250 miles to get comfortable/ confident with the DRW…
Grateful for the sanity this forum brought me… More pics to come post wash n’ wax this Friday!
cool, thanksIf it's on your equipment listing, nothing to worry about, your truck is already being built. That was in the past.
Your last sentence has always been true, at least for the last 45 years that I know of since I bought my first car.I saw that, but based on the way I read the comments, they will still have substantial (just not excessive) inventory on the lots. The GM CEO said he sees "ideal" dealership inventory levels ranging from 30 to 60 days’ supply depending on make and model. Source: https://www.wardsauto.com/dealers/exec-says-gm-won-t-return-high-inventory-days
I agree there will likely be more custom ordering going forward, but there's still a large segment of consumers that want/need to drive their trade-in to the dealer, get the deal done, and drive out with a new vehicle. For the dealers, there's probably a balance somewhere that allows them to reduce carrying costs for large inventories but also be able to take advantage of the higher margins they can make with impulse or time constrained buyers.
I can see a world where if you don't want the model with the highest sales and the most common packages, you'll probably have to custom order.
I am very similar to you. My window sticker populated 2 weeks ago and I have no information about it leaving yet. Were you able to find out if your truck was loaded onto a train? Or why there might be a delay? It seems most trucks are shipping within a few days of window sticker.Received thank you appreciated

Yeah, no love for us Canadians. I ordered in Oct and only got my vin a couple weeks ago. Takes way longer in Canada.I'm Canadian and haven't heard a thing!
It will be 6 months this coming weekend.
Ordered ,big horn 3500 mega cab, srw.
Starting to wonder what the №$#$$# is going on.
We ordered ours September 13th,Yeah, no love for us Canadians. I ordered in Oct and only got my vin a couple weeks ago. Takes way longer in Canada.
I guess in a broad sense, that's always true. I was getting at the fact that in the future, I believe variety will be even more limited than it was before 2020. With the shift, if you want a Honda Accord LX or Hybrid in black, white, or silver, you will probably be able to find one on the lot somewhere close. If you want an Accord Hybrid Sport in blue, you'll probably be custom ordering. In 2019, you could probably find just about any variety of Accord you might want within a 100 miles of a reasonably sized metro area.Your last sentence has always been true, at least for the last 45 years that I know of since I bought my first car.
What part of Canada do you live?Yeah, no love for us Canadians. I ordered in Oct and only got my vin a couple weeks ago. Takes way longer in Canada.
Got my window sticker 3/5 and now the code says delayed.I am very similar to you. My window sticker populated 2 weeks ago and I have no information about it leaving yet. I'm in Yellowknife. I ordered from a GoAuto dealer that have about 10 dealerships in Canada. It does matter I think because smaller lower volume dealerships aren't allocated. What part of Canada do you live?
Small Town dealer?
Or do you think it matters
)Every time I've reached out about my Longhorn, I'm been told "Check back soon". Still D1 as well, I've blown past build and ship dates, dealer has no clue when they're going to receive it. We all should've ordered Limiteds and Katzkins at this rate.@tyler2you I just called Ramchat sh!tshow and was told D1 with no estimated shipping date. WTF? Do they even build Longhorns anymore? This is beyond frustrating to see January orders delivered. Back into the dark cloud of waiting.
2022 Ram 3500 SRW Limited Longhorn. 6.7 HO Pearl white.
(Don’t have it yet)

Ugh. So frustrating. Maybe there's a shortage of black/tan cows for the interior . . .@tyler2you I just called Ramchat sh!tshow and was told D1 with no estimated shipping date. WTF? Last truck I ordered I had to call and tell them it was on the lot.. the salesman argued with me till he walked out and looked.. I told him to get it ready I'd be by the next day to pick it up.. if you don't bug them they don't look..Canadian Order arrived in just two days over 3 months!! ! say that is pretty good!!
so sales guy texted and apparently my truck arrived yesterday! no updates from them at all on delivery, to let me know it was even on its way. just hey your truck has been here since yesterday!!. Kinda rubbed the wrong way about that especially since i live 4 hours from my dealer!. Only info I got was from a great member on here despite my dealer saying they will text me as soon as they know a shipping date! It sure scares a guy into thinking his truck was damaged considering i knew my truck was most likely sitting in a rail yard for a week and not a peep from my dealer. I even contacted to ask them about my truck and they just said its in shipping, we are not sure where it is, but will update you when I know better dates on its arrival......... as long as its not damaged and I think that is doubtful that is damaged given the timeline I will be a happy man! Just saying I was starting to get worried lol So should be going Friday or Saturday to pick it up!WIll post pictures
