5,000,000th Truck Was A Ram 2500 Power Wagon...
Stellantis Mexico recently celebrated a significant milestone at its Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The plant, spanning 212,850 square feet, is responsible for manufacturing a range of Ram vehicles, including the Ram 1500 Classic (Regular Cab), Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 Heavy Duty models, as well as the DX Chassis Cab for the Mexican market. With a dedicated workforce of more than 4,000 employees, they produce over 100 different variations of these pickup trucks, which are then exported to 45 countries worldwide.
In a noteworthy moment, the 5,000,000th pickup rolled off the assembly line last month. This special vehicle was a 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon, painted in an eye-catching Hydro Blue color. The Power Wagon Level 2 Equipment Package includes premium features like a black grille mesh with a Gunmetal R-A-M grille badge, high-quality headlamps with Gloss Black surrounds, and a 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. It boasts a powerful 750-watt, 17-speaker Harman Kardon® sound system, premium Medium Greystone Natura Plus or optional Bristol leather bucket seats with an embossed Power Wagon logo, a console armrest badge, and a specifications plate badge.
To put this achievement into perspective, the 4,000,000th pickup was produced back in August 2019, a Ram 2500 Laramie model. This production milestone reflects the commitment to quality and the workforce’s dedication at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant.
Carlos Rivera, Vice President of Manufacturing at Stellantis Mexico, emphasized the plant’s role in showcasing Mexico’s excellence in meeting high-quality standards. He acknowledged the numerous awards the Ram vehicles assembled in Mexico have received, including the prestigious Truck of Texas award on multiple occasions, recognition for Best Technology, and the coveted Motor Trend Truck of the Year award.
The Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant has been a cornerstone of Ram truck production, and this milestone underscores the plant’s ongoing success in delivering top-quality trucks to customers worldwide. The skilled workforce and their unwavering commitment have been instrumental in achieving this remarkable feat, solidifying Mexico’s reputation as a hub for automotive excellence.
