Build Your Dream Heavy Duty Pickup...
With the initial batches of 2022 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty models reaching dealers over the past few weeks, RAM has now opened its popular Build & Price configurator on both RamTrucks.com (United States) and RamTruck.ca (Canada).
Although it has been four model years since its last major update, the Ram Heavy Duty lineup comes in 2022 with several updates. Despite keeping the same overall handsome looks inside and out for 2022, there are several new package changes, the addition of the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment software, and even more towing technology.
The all-new Uconnect 5 system is standard on Ram 2500/3500 Big Horn (Lone Star in Texas) models and above. It is four times faster with three times more memory, features Wi-Fi capability, tow-specific navigation, and brings flexibility that allows the system to continuously evolve to offer new content, features, and services.
The Big Horn (Lone Star) models also get several updates going into the 2022 model year. The biggest change to the Big Horn is the new unique grille and texture design. Chrome lovers should be happy to hear that the Big Horn Silver Edition will return, after being absent during the 2021 model year. The Big Horn Silver adds lots of chrome features to the Big Horn trim (something we will be discussing later this weekend).
When it comes to the off-road-oriented Power Wagon models, we recently went over the entire new 2022 lineup. The highlight for the Power Wagon was the addition of the Level 3 Equipment Package (which replaces the 75th Anniversary Edition, that was introduced last year). There is also the availability of the Electronic Transfer Case on Level 2 (standard on Level 3 models) with the option of a full center console available on Level 2 models (standard on Level 3 models).
On Limited models, the Limited Black (Night Edition) gets some darker interior enhancements for 2022. The enhancements include Black Onxy cluster rings, cluster badge, door handles, steering wheel logo, electronic shifter knob, glove box logo, and Black Smoke-colored speaker grilles.
For those looking for more towing features, there is now a “Tow Mode Digital Rear-View Mirror Package” that features a digital rear-view mirror and wired tow-mode camera and allows the driver to see behind the trailer with a remote camera.
Available Trailer 360-degree Surround-View prodvided enhanced visibility of trailer surrounds with a bird’s-eye 360-degree view of the trailer only, and includes four cameras and wiring.
A new Trailer Hitch Light is now included in Trailer Tow Group and includes 4 LED lights that provide clear, crisp light from directly above the trailer hitch.
