Ram 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab Get Minor Updates For 2022 Model Year!

The Ram 3500/4500/5500 Heavy Duty Chassis Cabs represent Class 3, 4, and 5, Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings (GVWR), with a unique Ram 3500 Chassis Cab 10,000 lb. GVWR model for Class 2 customers. As we enter the 2022 model year, we are learning about a few changes that the RAM brand is making to its Ram 3500/4500/5500 Heavy Duty Chassis Cab lineup and we thought we would go through the biggest changes.

The biggest change is the introduction of the all-new Uconnect 5 system. The Uconnect 5 system will be standard on Ram Chassis Cab SLT, Laramie, and Limited models. The new system is up to four times faster than the 4C system it replaces and provides three times more memory. The Uconnect 5 software is available on an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen and features Wi-Fi capability, tow-specific navigation, and brings flexibility and customization to the Heavy Duty lineup.

For those who are looking for the ultimate work truck, the Limited trim brings the ultra-premium materials, equipment, and touches from the 2500/3500 lineup to the Chassis Cab models. For 2022, those who opt for the Chassis Cab Limited models will notice a slight difference from the 2021 models. A new set of Black Onyx cluster rings, cluster rings, cluster badge, door handles, steering wheel logo, glove box logo, and Black Smoke speaker grilles come standard across the Limited lineup.

For those who opt for the 6.4-liter HEMI® Big Gas Engine (BGE) V8 in their Chassis Cab, RAM has been listening to its customer base and is now offering dual fuel tanks on the gas engine models. The addition of the dual tank option should help those looking for extending their range on the HEMI.

According to our fleet sources and not yet confirmed by RAM, is the addition of two new All-Terrain Tire Packages for the Ram 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cabs. Those packages include…

• Ram 3500 Chassis Cab with Dual Rear Wheels – Goodyear Adventure 17-inch LT235/80R17E/10PR Off-Road Tires (TSG)
• Ram 4500/5500 Chassis Cabs – Michelin XDS 2 19.5-Inch LT225/70R19.5G/14PR Off-Road Tires (TSJ)

Our fleet sources said the packages were announced during an online event. We know that the two new options should be a popular option for those who work on muddy sites or in the harsh winter weather.

When it comes to exterior colors choices, the Ram 3500/4500/5500 will offer 13 standard exterior color choices and a number of low production color options. When it comes to the standard colors, a new Harvest Sunrise paint color joins Billet Silver Metallic, Black, Blue Streak, Bright White, Delmonico Red, Diamond Black, Flame Red, Granite Crystal, Maximum Steel, Patriot Blue, Pearl White, and RV Match Walnut Brown Metallic. Olive Green will not return for 2022.
