What did you do TO your RAM today?

Hey if you could give more info/feedback on the liquified spring setup please. Install, price etc. You have a sweet train there!

Prices vary with the make and model of vehicle.

We had ours install by Reiselt's Machine Works in Radnor, OH.
We chose Erich there as we found his brother is a fleet manager for the local CDJR dealership and offered below MSRP prices when no one else seemed to be.
Also, the work Erich does is exceptional.

There are several installers out there, Buckstop is another good one as well, with a ton of exp in this space.
Buckstop is in both Oregon and Coleman, TX.

Install is between 40-50 hours of work.
Pretty extensive surgery goes on.
All of the existing suspension components are removed, leaf springs, all springs and existing shocks go!
New control arms are put in as some vehicles require a lift (our 5500 required a 2" lift which is included in the kit), so they adjust the geometry on the front end for that.
Ours was done in 5 days, but the also included offsite alignment servicing and new tires as well.

Liquid Spring sets the price which is not negotiable by installers, installer compliance required (per installer contract).
For our Ram, it was just under $25k, which is about $5k-7k more from what a full Kelderman install would be.

But, imo, there really is little comparison between the two systems (Kelderman and LS).
Don't get me wrong, Kelderman is fantastic and provides for a huge gain in ride quality, excellent product that work very well!

I really can't even describe what a game changing difference LS is.
It is truly surreal.
You can still hear the bumps and bangs of rough roads, but the impact is completely muffled, or muted if you will.

Windy roads are a joke with the camper now.
"Sport" mode is absolutely wild on windy roads.
Instead of feeling the centrifugal force of a curve, the cab sits still, zero rolling whatsoever, and it feels more like a pivot that a turn.
Your vehicle just sort of ends up facing a different direction, completely defying the laws of "perceived physics".
Hard to describe.

We are in our camper full time.
So, safety and comfort were paramount for us.
We originally have a 3500 with our AF 1150.
Installed a rear anti-sway bar which made a big difference but the AF was just too much for the 3500, imo.
Porpoising, rolling, and just drove like it was on the edge of being controllable or not.
With the move to the 5500, things were way better, much less role, way more planted.
But hitting a bump in the road, even under load, sent a shock through your body still.

With LS, I do not even get pushed when passing or being passed by semi-trucks on the hwy, I don't even feel them coming, just pass on by zero white knuckles.

Zero regrets on the purchase.

Thx. I would think a system utilizing hyd fluid would be far superior to air. Pricey for sure but safety isn’t often cheap.

Alright so it wasn't today but rather over the past couple of weeks!

  • 2" Lift with Liquid Spring install
  • Installed upper boxes, Buyers 18x16x72" (We swapped out the handles to better match the Iconic Metal Gear lowers, nit perfect but close)
  • Upgraded tires to 265/70r19.5 Toyo m608s (yes, on OEM wheels)
  • Welded attachment points to the bumper for our 36" Torklift SuperTruss

She was a little dirty here due to the storms...

And we are back on the road South from Ohio into Texas.

Next stop, Buckstop for a new front bumper and come CTech Manufacturing tool drawers to be installed.

She is coming along nicely, oh and the Liquid Spring? Total game change for the 5500.
It defies the laws of physics, it is amazing!
That’s a helluva rig. Nice. How do you like the AF?

Got the girl back from getting full frontal PPF and I added the weather tech rock and bug guard.

How well does the WeatherTech rock guard fit the contours of the sport hood?

I have the sport hood as well and purchased an AVS AeroSkin II about a year ago, but I had to return it because the profile of the sport hood is slightly different than the standard hood. I looked on WeatherTech's website, and it doesn't say anything about specific hoods or fitment. Was yours a good fit? Or was it good enough to make it work?

Installed a hoist in my garage to easily install/remove my 5th wheel hitch. Got the hitch installed; getting ready to pick up our new home away from home.

The yellow safety chain in the pictures is just a parking aid. I line up the center-line on the rear-view camera with the chain to get myself aligned left-right. When I see the chain touch my rear bumper, then I'm aligned front-back. Gets me to within 1/2" for dropping the hitch right into the pucks in the bed.

I have had it installed for about 6 months now and think it should come standard with all trucks. The benefits of being able to go into low gear but still be able to turn your wheels on concrete are HUGE when you have a large rv or trailer with heavy weight and you need to maneuver it.

Whether you are on an incline or just need finer control of the trailer, it is super nice to have this option and not worry about if youre screwing up the 4x4 system in the front if you need to turn sharply on concrete.

The only negative that I would say, I wired it into my AUX buttons and the unit doesnt give you any real positive confirmation (other than the light on your aux button) whether it is actually engaged or not. The first couple of times using it I was worried it wasnt working until i tried to full lock the steering and moved forward.

They do provide a button you can use if you dont have the aux buttons. According to the manual they do NOT recommend leaving the system on if you are in 2wd so I make sure to shut it off but again, it would be nice if there was some type of sound or something letting you know you turned it on and off.

Has anyone attempted to install this on a MY23-up? BD's website description says that it works with up to MY22. I called their sales dept, and the gentleman I spoke with said they haven't verified fitment / function with 23-up. He said as long as the connectors are the same, then it should work. Just wondering if anyone has taken the chance.

If not, @usernamechecksout or @Brutal_HO , would you mind taking pictures of your connectors? If they look the same as my '24 connectors, then I'll take the plunge and post my results.

Thanks, gents. About $200 and 1 hour for the whole setup. Worth every damn penny and minute to save my back. You're right - a 220lb hitch is no joke. And I too like to do truck things with my truck. Links to items below if anyone is interested.

Hoist

King pin lifting bracket

10' Unistrut

8' of yellow plastic from Home Depot, purchased by the foot, about $2

5x lag bolts and washers, about $5, also from HD

Scrap piece of closet rod to hang the chain - "free". I used closet rod so I could slide the chain side-to-side to easily align it directly behind the rope drum on the hoist. Easy to fine-tune your parking. When I'm not using the chain to park, I just hang the middle and free end from a couple of nails in the roof truss so it's not dangling down all the time.

Nice setup.

I have the same hitch (love it). I've used my ATV winch to pull it once but getting that off the trailer just for that is a pain. Normally I pull the head and take them out separate and/or have a son help if he's around when needed.

Eventually, I'll probably be too broken to pull it myself and will need a better solution that doesn't depend on said son.

That said, I'm curious what this item is as it appears to have the Curt R/Y/G hitch indicator banding on it.

That's just the remote for the hoist. I opted for a wireless remote instead of the typical dongle style, simply because it gave me better mobility to not be under the hoist when operating.

I like the fit. No issues.

Question: Does anyone know if you can install a hood led light strip and the Rock/Bug guard? Or will the hood not shut correctly? Too much material between the hood and grill?
