What did you do TO your RAM today?

Changed the fuel filters today, second fuel filter change but first time doing it myself. At 68 with a bad back I had it done last time but with what they charge now I ordered from DieselFiltersOnline tackled it. Way easier than i thought it would be, took me about 1 hour 15 minutes.

I change mine and Im 68 also. If I had them changed, it wouldn’t be at a dealer. Search “Guaranteed no mess rear fuel filter change tool “ and check it out. It works for the 19+ trucks.

Last time I also bought the filters and had an independent install them, now they won't do it unless they supply the filters. I just cut the bottom of a gallon milk jug and held underneath as I unscrewed, caught 95%.

I installed breather lines from the diffs, transfer box and gearbox right up into the engine bay just a tad above the rocker cover.

How do you like the weather tech Rock and bug guard? Thinking about getting one for my truck, can't decide on who to go with.
I like it. Just didn’t like installing it. Had to run to the auto store to get longer better push in rivets. But finally got it installed and liking the look.

Truck wouldn’t start this morning. Dash went dark when trying. Checked batteries. Passenger side OEM battery only lasted 33 months. Installed two new Duracell 94R from Sam’s Club. $140ea. $309 out the door. Didn’t spring for AGM as they are $60ea more.
If and when I need batteries, I’m going to go with the AGMs. I had 1 in my 08’ Silverado that I had to replace this year after running it for 10 years. I have never had a battery last that long. I figure it will be luck if the OEMs make it 3 years.

If you want lower priced front fuel filters I get my Fleetguard FS53000 at Cross Filters 2 for $104 delivered but noticed they are now at $56 each, fyi now they are out of stock, as for the rear filters I got mine at Rock Auto but I also had to be on the wait list to buy them but also got them delivered for $57.00 each at the time, I'm not sure of the current price, we all know price goes up and down on a whim....

AGM only lasted about 4 years in my ‘06. Dang Texas 5 month summers.

Yeah it stays pretty warm here too for a good while. I couldn’t hardly believe it lasted that long but I wrote the date on top of the battery when I installed it. I told the guy at AAP I wanted to warranty the battery. He asked if I remember when I got it. When I told him 10 years ago he just laughed.

Alright so it wasn't today but rather over the past couple of weeks!

  • 2" Lift with Liquid Spring install
  • Installed upper boxes, Buyers 18x16x72" (We swapped out the handles to better match the Iconic Metal Gear lowers, nit perfect but close)
  • Upgraded tires to 265/70r19.5 Toyo m608s (yes, on OEM wheels)
  • Welded attachment points to the bumper for our 36" Torklift SuperTruss

She was a little dirty here due to the storms...

And we are back on the road South from Ohio into Texas.

Next stop, Buckstop for a new front bumper and come CTech Manufacturing tool drawers to be installed.

She is coming along nicely, oh and the Liquid Spring? Total game change for the 5500.
It defies the laws of physics, it is amazing!
