Your instal looks great and that ladder is the perfect heighth but it still makes me cringe to see 7 self taping screws being puBoom! Me too. I love it. Installed it OVER the Bedrug mat... super clean install. Spray painted the silver hex nut heads to keep the shiny monsters away...

They're only little holes!Your instal looks great and that ladder is the perfect heighth but it still makes me cringe to see 7 self taping screws being put in a new tg.
looks nice and very practical. I try to get in and out of the bed often and it's not convienant that's for sureThey're only little holes! But yeah, I didn't really enjoy putting in the pilot holes in the tailgate. And I kept saying "No I won't hit a wire!". But it does make getting in the bed doable. And I plan on keeping the truck for a while, so it won't be a new tailgate for long!

Looks like you are totally qualified to work at a dealership!!9 actually, when you count the strap that holds it down.
Some may shy away at what might be considered defacing a 2-week old $65k vehicle, but I learned a long time ago that if it’s shiny, new, and in mint condition I tend to care too much about it... so scuffing it up puts the “material” of it into proper perspective. If you cringe at these 8mm screws, wait for the next mod!
To stay in the post’s theme, today I drilled 4x 1/2” holes in the truck bed forward wall, to setup a rivnut insert scheme. Then I drilled a 5th, because the first freaking rivnut I tried to mushroom went cockeyed and wouldn’t set straight. So I figured just try harder, and I broke the bolt in half. So then I wanted to remove said bolt, and ended up cutting it off with a dremel. The area is full of character now, with the sheet metal warped and the paint chipped... I was a little sad. Then I remembered, 1) it’s a truck, 2) it’s the bed of a truck, 3) that whole area won’t even be visible once I install the unistrut bed rail. I wasn’t sad anymore.View attachment 5984

Speaking of which... what part number did you buy for the chrome tip? 82208243AB ?(...), but I guess it’s so dummies like me will spend a few more bucks.
Yes sir that’s the one.Speaking of which... what part number did you buy for the chrome tip? 82208243AB ?
how much? Is it something you could DIY easily? I’ve seen the adhesive vinyl looking option, and the rattle can option. I was shocked at how easily this paint chips. Terrible. Need to put something on the rocker panels at least!Had protective paint film installed.
Front and rear bumpers, hood (about a foot), roof (about a foot), rocker panel and rear fenders front half.

Looks like you are totally qualified to work at a dealership!!Just kidding. Shiny is nice but functionality is also important so keep on drillin
Yup, they got me on that part to. After 90k , what's another 140 bucksJust ordered the bed step, air deflector and chrome exhaust tip. It’s kind of surprising that a truck with a MSRP of 90K doesn’t come with a chrome exhaust tip, but I guess it’s so dummies like me will spend a few more bucks.
It was actually $122 minus 15% Mopar discount so not too bad. Next up will be my hitch.Yup, they got me on that part to. After 90k , what's another 140 bucks
It's not cheap. A bit over a thousand.how much? Is it something you could DIY easily? I’ve seen the adhesive vinyl looking option, and the rattle can option. I was shocked at how easily this paint chips. Terrible. Need to put something on the rocker panels at least!
I think it was listed for 140 something, then discounted down to 120 then I did the same thing with the 15% discount as I ordered the chrome fuel door, chrome tip pipe, a case of car care kits, and billet silver paint pen from mopar all at the same time. Also the $600 trailer camera ( wich i returned because its junk) discounted to 550 then 15% off that and i got $100 back when I spent over 500 on my new mopar card. Cha ching baby.It was actually $122 minus 15% Mopar discount so not too bad. Next up will be my hitch.
Scheduled an appointment with the Dodge dealer to fix damage done by a chain tire shop. Not going to discuss the details on social media until the process is complete.
Well, remember to never go back there...After weeks of waiting, my truck is finally repaired and I've been reimbursed by the shop that damaged my lugs and studs. I took my truck to Auto Tire to have the tires mounted and balanced and to have the alignment done. The day of the work the shop was behind schedule. When I showed up to pick up the truck, I saw it was still in the bay without the new wheels and tires. I parked across the bay from the truck and waited and watched in my car. I didn't want to go in and wait due to covid. I watched as the mechanic installed every wheel with an impact wrench. Not supposed to do that with a spindle nut socket, but I thought it would probably be alright. Long story short. Drove the truck home, alignment off, rescheduled appointment, drove on highway, balance off. Since both items were done wrong I decided to take it to a new shop. The new shop refused to work on it because all the lugs they attempted to remove were cross threaded. I returned to the offending shop with documentation and the manager said, "There's no way they're cross threaded, those lugs have to be put on by hand and that's what we did!" When I told him I watched the installation, he changed tune and asked me to bring it back in. My solution was to take it to the dealer. Dealer indicated 1/4 of the lugs were cross threaded and every single one was over torqued. All lugs damaged. They said chasing the studs was enough to fix the threads. I hope they're right. Also the alignment was wrong and front tires were out of balance.
