Truck won't unlock after remote start

Are they going to send a letter to the owners notifying them that they have a firmware update ready? Or I have to count on my dealer to pass that info to me?
I guess you will probably need to contact them when you find out the fix has been issued..I will post here as soon as they contact me...or I read it here and contact them...

They don’t send owners letters about TSBs. Unless you have a dealer, or tech that studies new TSBs every day (remember, they have three other vehicle lines they usually deal with also), they won’t know about it until someone brings in a vehicle with symptoms. Then they search the database for TSBs that might have to do with the issue the customer describes. You might get a sharp tech that can say, “oh yeah, I remember seeing a TSB regarding that issue”, but you gotta realize there are thousands of them that cover issues with ram, jeep, dodge, and chrysler.

So my best way to get this fix is to keep checking with the dealer if they already have the update?

My dealer said they would contact me as soon as they have a fix so when that happens I will post here.
 
My dealer tells me same thing each time and they never call back.
I live next door to the dealership's GM. there are some perks to having good neighbors.
 
I installed passive entry over the weekend and now it unlocks every time when I grab the handle. But I still would like to be able to unlock it with my FOB. We will see if they going to come out with the fix or not

can you do a little write up? that would be handy for sure.
 
I just got home from my dealer. I purchased 2 new oem keys with remote start and tailgate release from BAM Wholesale. Dealer tech added XBM sales code and programmed both new keys. Tech brought my vehicle around. Showed me that both remote start and remote tailgate released as advertised. I've remote started about 1/2 a dozen times between dealer and home and unlocks on first try every time.

It's not the remotes that causing and issue. Is the software or firmware or whatever it's called.

I have a question. I have a 2020 2500 and want to add the remote start and the tailgate release. Will key fob part # 68374994AC WORK?
 
Has anyone found a fix for this yet? My 4 week old 2021 Power Wagon has has this problem since day one.
 
I just joined the site after reading this post. I have a 2020 Ram 2500 Big Horn (manufactured Oct-20) with factory remote start and have the same unlock/lock issues. I had the truck back at the dealership last Tuesday (01/19/21). They had a truck in the week before with the same issue so they pre-ordered a new RF hub for mine (didn't tell me if that fixed the issue with the other truck or not and I didn't ask). I was there for 3 hours while they replaced the hub and replaced one key fob after one of the two failed to reprogram. Took the truck home and guess what, still will not unlock without multiple attempts pressing unlock. I contacted Ram Care and initiated a case. Of course they told me in order to advance the case, I had to schedule another appointment. This time I am going to my local dealership so I don't have to take a day off work. New appointment is February 8 so I will let you all know how it goes.

well until they get the software figured out you are just wasting your time.
