Truck won't unlock after remote start

How about me? My dealer don't know what to do and give me options that are out of this world. I want to get this fixed. It was dealer installed and it doesn't work like it suppose to
 
Just received an email from chrysler customer care and both them and dealer telling me to remove power tailgate release. Which is obviously not possible because it comes like that from factory. I can't believe how misinformed both are. I think for next visit I'm going to remove the gate completely.
 
Mine goes in next week for the rest of what it went in for originally. We will see what happens. I also have the popping noise in the front end, but have to find a place close to the dealership where it will make the noise. At this point I just hope the door unlock gets fixed. Just an FYI. I don't have a tailgate release button on the fob. Also I have noticed if I remote start it in the house, then immediately unlock it from the same location it will unlock most of the time. However if I go out to the truck it won't unlock or lock , and I can't shut it off either. If I wait for it to shut off on its own it will unlock or lock fine.

have you tried removing the sales code for the tailgate release? This thread has gotten so long I can't remember if you are using something to program your truck or not.

There is no sales code for tailgate release. Tailgate release is there from factory. You busy need fob with tailgate release button and it will work

Spoke to the dealer today. They told me to bring the truck in after new year to remove a tailgate sales code. LOL. Unbelievable....I will do it just so they cross it over from their funny list

Have them show you your VIN build with all your sales codes before and after the visit. If you have the remote tailgate release (JKR), it will show up as dealer installed option. You can find this out right now by getting the my mopar app, create an account with you VIN. Under the your vehicle equipped tab, click dealer. This is the list of option sales codes that the dealer installed. If they really did add sales code JKR to your truck, it will say remote tailgate release in the list.

That's the thin. They didn't add tailgate release code. When I took my truck to them with the new FOB they told me there is no option to add tailgate release code to my truck but somehow magically it works. I told him there is no code added but he still want to remove it. I have a feeling that next they will blame is my aftermarket all weather mats

Well, in the meantime, you can use that app to know for absolute certain if it got added somehow.

Update , my truck went back in today to have a part installed. I was informed when I picked it up that fca is aware there is a problem with the unlock. They are working on a update for the rf hub. I was told they will contact me when it is available. So I guess now we wait.

I see on another forum thread of this issue that there is a star case number attached to this issue, so that means it’s definitely coming soon- most likely software flash.
 
My truck wouldn't unlock passively after a remote start today. Previously the only time it had done that was when I had my phone and keys in the same hand. It unlocked right away after pressing the key fob. It made me think of this thread LOL!

This is the star case number they can use to reference, but it only acknowledges the issue and says it’s being worked on, which is the most information they have to be able to tell you- S2008000194
 
Are they going to send a letter to the owners notifying them that they have a firmware update ready? Or I have to count on my dealer to pass that info to me?
