Too much oil and poor dealer help

What pile crap. What's a measly couple hundred to RAM for this inspection, especially since you've documented the most thorough run-around in the history of Stellantis!
[edit] I just read where you were quoted $2400 to drop the pan and inspect crank. I'll do it for $2200!

Lol my buddy would do it for a lot less, but need a Ram dealer to do it. I just need a little scaring on anything down there and icing on the cake. Also me paying out of pocket for motor inspection won't look good for Ram down the road. So I really don't mind it.

I would hope that Ram will reimburse you if they do find some issues down there. Hopefully the tech will be honest about the findings.

If something is found they will have to take care of it. Liability and vehicle is under warranty, they would lose any court case if it came up.

That's 11 hours @ $200 hr labor the rest to cover oil & shop supplies.
Warranty is 2.3 hours for main and rod bearing inspection. So 11 hours is a bit much but it does suck pulling that pan and bearing caps

Yeah. It's what my buddy looked up in his system (non dealer). We were shocked on the price as well. Book time was like 2.5hrs I believe and they aren't the cheapest for oil.
So probably less than $100 for an actual Cummins gasket. It’s amazing Mopar can even sell any parts with the absurdity of their markups

Yep it's ridiculous, I would definitely be more upset if I were not getting reimbursed. Just to know what it looks like is a peace of mind. Any bad marks or wear it will be motor replace. All clean not marks or wear I am good, I have a feeling they are replacing injectors and just kicking it back out.

Back in the day I had a 97 12 valve. At certain intervals the tappets required adjustment. Each cylinder had its own tappet cover with an "O ring" seal. The dealer here in canada wanted almost 30 dollars per seal. Since we did a lot of weekend camping in Michigan back then, I stopped at a Detroit Cummins shop on the way home. Price was 3.50 per seal. We Canadians really have to bend over for parts. I understand that there is an exchange rate but parts prices are rediculous here. Short story is get. your parts from Cummins if possible.
